Re: Anybody have a Jason Heyward CAP?
Here is the Jason Heyward I made...I think he looks better than the Heyward in the roster called Heyward Spot On. My Roster on Sports Connect is called BESTJASONHEYWARD. To see if you wanna download my Heyward here is a screenshot of him with a comparison above it...As far as ratings, I just copied the ratings from Heyward Spot On....I had no idea what to rate himLast edited by TN - BRAVES FAN; 03-06-2010, 11:47 PM.Comment

Re: Anybody have a Jason Heyward CAP?
okay...let's talk ratings. what are you guys rating him? it's really hard because his minor league numbers are so good and he's obviously got amazing talent...but it's hard to rate a 20 year old rookie in a way where he's one of your top 5 best...but maybe he should be.
i'd love for knight or carew to jump in that discussion.Comment

I don't know what to rate him, but I can tell you what I expect him to produce given a starting job out of ST. That may not occur of course, but this is all about fantasy anyway:okay...let's talk ratings. what are you guys rating him? it's really hard because his minor league numbers are so good and he's obviously got amazing talent...but it's hard to rate a 20 year old rookie in a way where he's one of your top 5 best...but maybe he should be.

500 AB
.275
20 HR
75 RBI
15 SB
80 BB
50 K
His range and arm are above average for RF, but not off the charts. His speed is avove average, but again not blazing. Line drive hitter with power. Will develop into a high average batter with 25-35 HR potential at this rate. If he tinkers with the swing a little down the road he could hit for more power. He looks like he can do pretty much whatever he wants at the plate already, and his plate discipline is elite level for any age.Comment

Re: Anybody have a Jason Heyward CAP?
I agree with your assessment. I am actually expecting a higher average (.290 range) and more speed (20+ SB). 75 RBI may be a bit high for this season, even with 500 ab. Regardless the guy is going to be a GREAT player for a long, long time.I don't know what to rate him, but I can tell you what I expect him to produce given a starting job out of ST. Re: Anybody have a Jason Heyward CAP?
Yeah. The buzz is getting louder by the day. Chipper Jones was matter-of-factly calling him the next superstar just today. The thing one would normally worry about in this situation would be all of it getting to the player's head. But by all accounts, Heyward's focus and demeanor are two of his strongest supposed attributes. His head is supposed to be one of the most advanced parts of his game.
You're right that 75 RBI might be a little high, but Cox has shown early indication that Heyward might bat in the middle of the order. He's had him in the 2 and 3 hole so far this spring.Last edited by wahoo138; 03-08-2010, 12:27 AM.Comment

Re: Anybody have a Jason Heyward CAP?
Here's some footage from batting practice sessions a couple weeks ago. The top two videos are Heyward.
Chris Snyder looks pretty spot on.

Yep he's slightly open, in a crouch, and has the same bat waggle. I think it's perfect. Here's some footage from batting practice sessions a couple weeks ago. The top two videos are Heyward.
