    Optimized for 720p???

The opening screen says that MLB 10 is opimized for 720p...and to set your PS3 accordingly. My monitor goes up to 1080p. Is it better to switch the PS3 down to 720p instead? Has anyone seen a difference? Just curious.....

Yes, and depending on your TV it may already display in the native resolution, 720p. Otherwise, the PS3 will down convert the 1080p signal.

I haven't tried it this year, but last year's game IIRC, if you set it to 1080p, it would disable Anti-Aliasing, and I thought it ran a little choppier. I found 720p to be an overall better experience.

I am also confused with this. My 360 native display is 720p but the PS3 native display is 1080i. Should I change my system setting to only 720p or will the PS3 somehow know to display in 720 instead of 1080i.
BTW, envious of those of you that have TV's with 1080P. Bought my TV about 6 months too early.

I have a 1080p display, and my PS3 automatically sets for 720p with MLB. Unless you set your PS3 to "force" 1080p, it should be sending 720p to your TV.

If it says it's optimized for 720P then you should check mark 720P in the system settings on the PS3.

720P has a lot of positives too...it runs the game smoother, and the visuals also improve (it adds 2X AA).

if my tv supports 720, 1080i and 1080p and i have them all checked, does the game automatically go to 720? or am i gonna have to uncheck the 1080's?

I believe it will run in 720p unless you uncheck it.

                    Can't wait for the PS4!

                    I imagine optimized for 1080p at 8xAA!

1080i and 720p are both checked in my system properties, when the PS3 boots it says 1080i in a little box in the upper right hand corner, so how can I check once the game starts up to see if its in 1080i or 720p?

I don't understand why anyone would want to play a sports game in anything other than 720p.

Go to Account Settings and uncheck everything but 720p. Then push right arrow to complete the change.

I don't know about your TV, but mine has a display that will tell me what format I am being fed.

if your TV is native 1080 resolution, you're better off running in 1080p so there's no scaling being done....better framerates

(if your TV is good enough)
