Potential ratings of guys being kind of a mess right now is the biggest IMO.(should be fixed Monday in roster update). I have heard this both ways so I am not positive on this one but if a future patch is put out(which probably will be at a later date) then you might have to restart your franchise for it to take affect. I am hoping that is not the case because I would like to start a franchise when full minors are done and the patch probably wont be done by then. -

I'm waiting for Knights rosters, can't play without them. Why on earth would you ask about a 2nd patch?! no one knows when it will be out, jeez, it's day 2!

I would at least wait and start a franchise until Monday. The current player potential will cause a lot of issues in your franchise right now. On Monday with the new roster update the Player Potential will be fixed and we are unsure when patch 2 will be out.

There is no disadvantage to starting a season now if you have the psp version since there is no FREAKIN' way to update rosters this year

I'm waiting until Knight's rosters. I like having the minors filled out.

I will wait until the next roster update for the potential issue to be fixed and then start my chise.
Then, about opening day I restart my franchise with the best rosters for any game in the history of games, Knights OS full minors.Comment

Even monday it wont be worth starting until they fix the fact that the CPU will trade your players unless you look at your pending transaction after every single day. There really is not a point in fixing the potential ratings until the trading problem is fixed because it will take to long to get through 1 season without having the CPU trade your best players or prospects for the potential ratings to even matter.Comment

no. Biggest issue is waiver claims. Right now after trade deadline you can get guys such as pujols,becket, reyes, etc. For FREE. Its terribly flawed. Wait for patchComment

I don't see a disadvantage in starting up now, unless you want to wait for the potential bug to be fixed via roster update Monday. There are workarounds to get past the issues with franchise mode right now. Are they ideal? No...but it sure beats missing a month or so of playing franchise all while waiting on a patch.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I've been playing season and franchise mode on ALL sports games since Joe Montana football on sega in '91, I've NEVER seen something this messed up.
The CPU trading your players makes it impossible to play franchise the way it is intended to be played.
The waiver claims do the same but at least the CPU isn't waiving your players and you can just not pick up the players for yourself.
The potential rating is just a stupid mistake but really isn't a big deal if you can't make it through 1 season without the CPU trading your players anyways.
then there are a bunch of other smaller issues.
It seems to me they spent all their time trying to make the 30 team control franchise mode (which is stupid, it should be a part of season mode, no reason to have something in franchise that is aimed at 1 season) and let these things slipped by.Comment

I am not quite as frustrated as KingSeyton, but I do feel that someone on the QA or testing team really dropped the ball here. I know that glitches are going to happen in any game or software, but in all honesty I would be fired for turning in such shoddy work. I love all of the new features this year and the way the game plays, but the glitches here really do detract from the amazing features somewhat. Personally, I will wait to start my franchise until all the patches and Knight's rosters come out. I have every confidence that they will get this fixed, but of course you must empathize with those that are feeling extremely frustrated.
In the meantime, I started a franchise as a personal spring training to get used to the game. Good thing too, as I am currently 1-5. I don't think I have walked once yet and have struck out about 10-15 times per game. I need a lot of work still.Comment

I'm waiting to start until after the 2nd patch and Knight's rosters are out. Last year the patch screwed up my franchise, and I don't want to have that happen again. I'll play a few short seasons until then to get ready, but it's disappointing that franchise mode is so screwed up this year.Comment
