PS3 Vs. Xbox - questions

I have a couple questions,
When online in ranked mode do PS3's play people on other PS3's or do they also play people on the xbox?

Does the xbox have more control over the game than the PS3?

I play on a PS3 and I pick a play and go with it, sometimes I set a HB in motion or something but not too much fancy stuff. On Def I pick a play and I can control one guy. I've read some post where someone says to set up a cover 2 the put a DB one on one with a reciever. Can I do that?

Honestly I suck online with Madden. I've won I think 75 games and lost 180. What really stinks is when I'm playing and winning and the other person quits. I like playing straight up up those games a few and far between. I got spanked the other night 65 to 24. He was coming in so fast I couldn't even get a pass off. He made me fumble like four times.
That's why I was wondering about the xbox ps3 thing.

I have it for both systems so here are my replies..

You only play folks on whatever system you are on, so if you're on PS3 you only play other PS3 folks.

No, the controls are the same.

I don't know how to do that but maybe someone else here who's more into the technical aspects of the game does so I guess i'm saying..I don't really know.

It's really completely the same game on both systems IMO. I can't really tell any difference.

Hope this doesnt turn into a console war.I dont think anyone should reply to this unless you are like ODogg and have actually played it on both systems.As for me I hardly play online,WAY TOO MANY CHEESERS.

On another note.Why dont you just play people you know?

LOL, i have one of those too (got one for my birthday). I love it but it's nothing at all competing wise with xbox 360 or PS3. Not worst, just not even on the same comparable level!

In order to switch a player to man defense you have to;
1 select that player
2 press x or A button
3 move the left stick or d-pad to the (right I think)

Which brings me back to the "this gen controls suck!!!!!" place where I want to rant and rave about the D-playmaker system which was nearly perfect last gen and EA messed it all up and how much more intuitive the legacy gen controls were period!!!!
