Best Hitting Camera/View : Final Verdict
I find it very hard to hit in the this game. I play on all-star and I try to be patient but on average I draw just 1 walk per game!

Re: Best Hitting Camera/View : Final Verdict
Yep, I don't ever walk myself. If it's anywhere near the plate, I'm swinging. And, since I always guess the pitch as well as the location, if any of the two are right, or both, I'm swinging. I didn't buy this game to watch and hope that pitches go by out of the strike zone. -
Re: Best Hitting Camera/View : Final Verdict
I just find it very hard to hit on All-Star. I don't move the analog and timing is the toughest thing for me. I am usually late on fastballs because I wait and see if they are going to break out of the zone or if there are going to be off-speed pitches. I tend to swing at a lot of balls and I was looking for this poll to serve as some advice!Comment

Re: Best Hitting Camera/View : Final Verdict
Well, if it's any help, here's what I do and as long as I stick to it and don't get impatient/frustrated I'll usually draw 2-4 walks per game. I use catcher view first of all but then, if there are no strikes I'm guessing pitch type and location and I'm only swinging if I guess both right (unless it's 3-0, I never give myself the green light). If I have one strike I'm guessing location only and if I only swing if I guess the right zone. Once at 2 strikes I'm then in protecting mode but doing it this way makes it to where you only have to have a good eye for one strike instead of 3. The one downfall, you will find yourself in alot of 0-2 and 1-2 counts, especially early in the game but usually if you can stick with it you'll eventually start getting some good pitches to hit as well as borderline calls.I just find it very hard to hit on All-Star. I've gone back and forth with Wide and Offset. Decided on Wide...Joshua:

Re: Best Hitting Camera/View : Final Verdict
OP, the fact is that what works best for the majority of people may not be what works best for you. So I'd ignore your poll results, and go with your ACTUAL results.
Some say they read low pitches better on Wide, some say no. Some say they read the ball coming from the pitcher's hand on one view or another. Some bat from Outfield view.[Insert clever, personally-relevant, or cutting-edge remark, data, link, or picture]Comment

I tried wide last night and didn't do so well. Went back to catcher and I started hitting better.Comment

Re: Best Hitting Camera/View : Final Verdict
A few days ago, I would have said Catcher. But, I am completely sold on Outfield for hitting. I seemingly pick up the pitches better and have a better eye of whether it's a ball or a strike. I catch myself saying to myself "I totally would have swung and missed on that low breaking ball". I don't like Catcher view for the simple fact I find it very difficult to determine whether or a not a ball coming straight down the heart of the plate is going to break.
I'm able to work the counts in my favor a lot better with Outfield view and because of that, I get better pitches to hit. I've had two of my best offensive games hitting from this view and I'm very much enjoying it. Now, with that said, I'm still striking out on this view because timing does take some getting use to. Usually I'm swinging late if I miss.PSN: sportdan30

Re: Outfield
Also a big fan of Outfield view for hitting. First year playing The Show, so I came into hitting with an open mind and many, many strikeouts early on...
I don't use Guess Pitch or PCI, and just seem to pick up the ball way better on Outfield view than catcher/wide (angle of pitch, ball coming at you, etc). Playing the CPU, the catcher doesn't seem to set up way inside or out on the plate much at all either and the view of the game is very similar to TV.
Timing is tough for this view, and as a noob, i set pitch speed to 0 and timing to 6 and use "Perfect" sliders elsewhere. Results have been fairly realistic, but I have a ways to go to master the art of hitting on this game.Comment

Re: Best Hitting Camera/View : Final Verdict
I use offset. It gives me a great view of all pitches high and low, especially breaking balls low in the zone. A problem when I started was inside pitches but I have come to get use to it. My favorite thing about offset is it eliminates my awful hitting with lefties against lefties because of the batter's body in the way. I still don't hammer lefties or do any better than I should be (can't hit lefties with Granderson at all) but I can at least not strikeout everytime they bring in a lefty.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it
