Re: 30,000 RTTS points?!?!
I would honestly rather work for my points, plus is it worth it to drop $5(thats th minimun I think) on something that you could earn? I guess I just get some satifaction out of earning something on skill....go figure...wow. a buddy of mine just "virtual juiced" and dropped $30 to get 30k training points...

Re: 30,000 RTTS points?!?!
me too. maybe I am just a combination of cheap and a "purist" to some degree, but I like to earn the points to get my own RTTS player to progress. I stink now, but I know it eventually gets betterComment

Re: 30,000 RTTS points?!?!
Ya I'm probably about the same lol, I could spend my money on something worth quite a bit more than imaginary points lol. I always do a pitcher and it seems to be easiest because I can dominate right out of the gate unlike a hitter.PSN:GOLDENxEYE

Re: 30,000 RTTS points?!?!
What's the point in even doing RTTS if you're going to do that...??
I'll never get the "Instant gratification" crowd.Joshua:

Re: 30,000 RTTS points?!?!
I dont get people like that, how is that even fun? whats the point of playing RTTS is your gonna do that? The whole satisfaction is improving your player and mimicking a career through the minors to the bigs. Basically ruins the entire experience IMO, defeats the entire purpose of the game. I just dont get gamers like that.Comment

Re: 30,000 RTTS points?!?!
I use it when my advancement goals are something ridiculous like "increase your contact versus righties by 5 over the next week" and I am getting played once every five days. I buy a lot of DLC for other games, so I almost always have an extra buck lying around that I'll then spend to meet that impossible-to-meet-otherwise goal.
The issue with some of your goals being impossible to achieve, and thus resulting in my player getting benched or demoted because after failing to meet goals once you are almost inevitably put on the bench, hasn't been corrected this year so this is a nice way around it.
I think it also might be neat to create a player who is a Strasburg-like, can't miss prospect and use him one of these days. I would actually like to see that implemented in future games where on random occassions, the RttS guy who create is loaded with talent.Comment

Re: 30,000 RTTS points?!?!
HUH? Whats the fun if goals are always easily attained? I never get benched for missing just a few goals. Impossible golas dont happen often. It's cheating really, and defeats the purpose of RTTS al together.Comment

Re: 30,000 RTTS points?!?!
I've never seen a goal that was requiring 5 points in one week. Also I have a stretch of over 2 months of achieving every goal. They are not impossible UNLESS you aren't doing the training etc... Now getting the required stats is another question lol.
In any case to each their own. I still think it goes back to wanting to get something right now.. instead of putting all the "work" into it.
I do like your Idea Jdurg of being able to maybe select the type of RTTS.
Green would be minimal ratings - lot of work ahead and start out in AA
Prospect starts right in AAA and takes less actual ratings to make it etc...Last edited by Skyboxer; 03-12-2010, 09:58 AM.Joshua:

Please explain to me the 'cheating' aspect, and try to do so without becoming a troll.
Thanks.

Re: 30,000 RTTS points?!?!
Think of it like this, if you were able to do this back in the PS2 or Xbox day, it wouldn't be DLC it would be a cheat code. IMO most DLC like this is just a cheat code that costs money, there is also that opinion that its the roids of video games...which isn't to far off honestly.PSN:GOLDENxEYE

Re: 30,000 RTTS points?!?!
Isn't it obvious? Your bypassing all the game requirments to max out your player using money? Thats essentially cheating, all the results with zero work.Comment

Re: 30,000 RTTS points?!?!
RttS. Catcher. Has a strained hamstring after new set of goals have been presented. Doesn't get played for two weeks, yet goals are not changed. As a result, I only meet the fielding percentage goal of .990 or higher because it is not possible to earn training points by riding your *** on the bench.I've never seen a goal that was requiring 5 points in one week. Also I have a stretch of over 2 months of achieving every goal. they are not impossible UNLESS you aren't doing the training etc...
In any case to each their own. I still think it goes back to wanting to get something without doing the "work"
Also, keep in mind that by spending pocket change on training points, you aren't buying the 10 XBH that you might need in a session, or the perfect fielding percentage, or the 5 walks that you need to draw, etc.
So again, please try and tell me how this is cheating? I'm dying to hear a solid argument. Also please tell me how my playing the game and using these points for training is altering how you play your game. It seems to be bothering you so much that I'm dying to know how my game is somehow altering yours.
