after watching the vids i say no thanks, i'm not wasting my money on something that will just collect dust because its a mediocre game. And by the way i'm not buying Madden either because ive been burned too many times with that crappy game. Looks like football seems to be the only sport that cant get a decent game out there. I'll get NCAA Football only because i love college football too much not to get it but this game doesnt look like its worth a purchase and i'm too skeptical about getting Madden again.Comment

Re: Backbreaker Video: Offensive Passing Alpha Gameplay
The DE in the first play had outside contain. There was a blitz from the MLB and ROLB. He took the LT wide because that left the middle open for the blitz. The LDT was double teamed, then the C saw the MLB. The LG didn't release the DT to the C, so the C went and blocked the MLB. The DT beat the LG with an inside swim move.
Now what was the DE doing? I don't know. He was wide and normally would have been to wide to make a play. The QB was moving to the right where he has a double team block, so maybe the DE didn't want to get caught too far up field and wide if the QB took off. It didn't look good, looked like suction blocking in Madden, but hopefully that is a bad player.
The CB was beat, so if he turns around, he would have been torched. He got beat on a simple route, but he had saftey help, so he looked to be covering the shorter inside routes. Turning around to find the ball once he was next to the WR would have looked a lot better.
Hopefully they fix those 2 issues or it only happens on arcade mode.Comment

Re: Backbreaker Video: Offensive Passing Alpha Gameplay
OK guys, a couple of observations. First, every play is going to be different. It's not like Madden, where we see a flaw and keep seeing it due to an animation trigger. What we saw on those 2 plays will probably never happen again. The ol/dl interactions will be different on the next play. The dbs will react differently on the next play. It's all based on where the players are at that time. I think that's the point that we're missing. Everyone has great observations, but every play's going to be a fresh experience. Not even the guys in the NFL make every play everytime. Sometimes they get beat, take the wrong angle, miss a block, run into a block, etc....
Now, I think we've all been burned by that other game and we are picking this game apart with the same mentality. I think we need to change our mindset and remember that every play will be different. No 2 plays will be the same....ever. No trigered or canned animations, just good ole physics-just like the football gods intended.Comment
