That's how I roll on recon, though sometimes I just have Mortar Strike instead of C4 (depends on the map). I end up just defending the MCOMS and throwing mines, using the shotgun up close. On offense I use the mines and usually C4 though I haven't mastered the C4 on tanks yet (a gunner on the tanks get me sometimes).

It's a fun way to be recon without having to sit and snipe.
