Anyways, in terms of news about them working more in depth on fixing sideline catches, what would you guys have wanted more?

No info at all about the matter, more than likely causing ones to ask EA, "Did you guys fix sideline catches?!?" and then say, "They aren't responding... they must not have been fixed! EA is lazy!!!!!"?

Or would you all have rather them do what they did now with this IGN article along with the recently released blog?

Seems like either way a lot of you guys would be acting pretty much the same (judging on how ones are acting now).
Some probably would. I tell you something else. I have a feeling that you would be acting differently if all the responses were positive.

I have yet to see you say to anyone that has a favorable opinion that it is too early to form an opinion. Let's call a spade a spade, you're trying to sound diplomatic, but the truth is you only think it's too early to form an opinion unless it is a positive one.

You can say I'm wrong, but I'm just judging by what has transpired in the pages of this thread.

So it'll be in Madden 11, guaranteed. Am I surprised? No, not really. The current animation system is intrinsically unrealistic. There's way too many stiff and awkward transitions between animations (which directly contribute to the ugly animation you referred to). The blending technology that EA constantly brings up simply DOES NOT WORK. It's like putting sprinkles and frosting on a piece of crap. Sure, it looks all shiny and colorful at first glance, but in the end, it's still smells.

I suspect we're not going to get a major re-haul in animation technology until 2012 (at earliest) - after Back-Breaker. Until then, 2011 is going to look much like 2010 in movement. And again, you shouldn't be surprised.

Ian and the crew aren't going to revolutionize their animation system until the market forces them to. And really, I don't blame them.
EA sports has reported a loss for a while now so unlikely they are willing to overhaul the the game...looks like we are stuck with the motion capture and animations that EA's gaming engine produces

                  Honestly that's not true.

I just don't get ones that are completely bashing the game and the devs so soon especially since the news that came about the game is something that has the potential of helping the game out a lot. It honestly doesn't make any sense to me that news like this will bring out messages like "F Ian" (lol).

There has been people in this thread that have stated their position on waiting in a mature matter and that I have no problem with.

Basically, I'm not trying to get ones to be more positive... just trying to get ones to act more mature and reasonable. There's no reason to get so worked up this early with only a little bit of info about the game. And as pared said in another thread, many of the replies don't really even make sense from a logical standpoint.

While I liked the news, I'm not really "pumped" for the game and won't be until a lot of news about the game comes.

I hear what you're saying. I really do, but the fact of the matter is that there is an imbalance, not just with you, but with many people on this, or any forum.

I'm not even saying that you are making a conscious effort to try and engender goodwill for the game. That's not what I'm saying at all. Look, there have definitely been a few crazy comments based off of very little info. I get that, but the overwhelming majority of the posts are just stating that they heard this before and that they are skeptical. And I don't believe you have a problem with those types of comments either, nor should you.

The comments that you seem to have a problem with, based off of the types of comments that you replied to, are the ones that said that the game is gonna be horrible in a nutshell. So you responded to them saying you can't know that from 2 screens and the little info that was given, in a nutshell. Which is perfectly logical and I have no problem with it. The thing of it is, there have also been a few, not many but a few comments that said that the game is gonna be awesome, based off of the same 2 screens and a little info, yet you did not reply to a single one of them and say that it was too early to form an opinion. That is the imbalance that I am talking about. And again, it isn't just you, it's pervasive.

If someone came on here and wrote "those screens were so awesome that I'm jizzing all over my monitor, Madden 11 is gonna be epic baby", that person is jumping to conclusions just as much as someone who says "those screens suck Madden 11 fail" at this point, and they too, are adding absolutely nothing to the thread, but I guarantee you that the person that made the first statement need not fear any reprimand from Pared or any other mod. Anyone that doubts this, hasn't been paying attention.

each and every single year its the same situation. People bashing for just one pictures loll.

Dont get me wrong but i think Madden 10 was a very good game. Not great not exceptionnal like nhl or mlb the show but we have seen that Madden is going in the right direction.

Ian and company has no choice but to put a great game this time because you see that Madden in sell is currently downhill. So if Ian and company his not able to put a great product this year i think personnaly as a boss perspective someone will have to take the blame....

We try our best to put ideas to make the greatest sports game but if their not listening to their consumers maybe EA sometime will be in trouble. Just a tips for you EA continue to pay millions for the NFL ; )

                        Thanks

Ian does all that he can I'm fairly certain. Whether he is the best man for the job or not I have no idea, but I don't doubt that he is passionate about trying to improve the game.

The unfortunate thing for him, and for us as consumers is that the business model that he is working under is not all that conducive to putting the best product out. Taking off a year or two to retool is not an option.

I understand the model, and why they would use it. It has been profitable for them overall to this point i would imagine. Which is part of why I say that it is unfortunate.

Ian is getting the blame for years of out right lies from EA, no doubt. The sideline catch has been promised to us since forever.

Ian also has done some damage himself. I know he apologized for misleading people with last years blogs, but I felt they were more than a little misleading as so did alot of others it seems. Screenshots of old animations and promises they are improving this isn't going to get it done anymore. The amount of negativity towards the first Madden 10 info is really telling to that imo.
