Goodbye Flozell Adams and Ken Hamlin.

I think Hamlin would have been kept around if not for his huge contract as he was still pretty decent.

Cowboys better be planning on drafting a safety in round 1

Just posted this in the free agency thread but didn't feel like cross-posting.

I think we could still go offensive lineman in the first round; Mike Iupati from Idaho looks like the prototypical Cowboys' lineman, and he apparently can be moved out to tackle. If he falls, I want him.

Bad as I hate to say it I'm glad to see Flozell go. He had gotten pretty bad over the past couple years. Those false start penalties along with holding was becoming a given every game from him.

He still was a fine blocker (though he struggled against the faster rushers at times, and his play did tail off a bit last season), but those penalties were indeed frustrating.

Yeah! Flozell had a great career in Dallas. I wonder if any other teams will take a chance on him now? He can still block in the running game but he's aged quite a bit & he's proned to penalties now. I'm sure there will be a few teams that show interest in him.

I'm hoping we can sign Sensabaugh back. I think he helped us tremendously last season. Granted, I believe we'll take a safety in the draft for sure. I just think his veteran presence plus he can double as both a coverage safety along with playing zone.

Has anybody seen what type of salary that Sensabaugh is wanting? Just curious to know because I've not seen any chat about what he's wanting to do & how much money.

I hope we can keep him back there at least for one more year. I'd even like a multi year deal for him but if we draft a safety then that might not be likely.

According to PFT (which has become my news source for all things football, so it seems), restricted free agents have until April 15 to sign with a new team. Presumably, then, if Sensabaugh isn't gone by then, he'll be back in Dallas for at least next season.

I haven't heard anything about Sensabaugh's salary demands, however; given that he's an RFA, he's not in much of a position to ask for much from Dallas. Also haven't heard much recently about teams interested in him other than the Cowboys.

Also according to PFT, Adams is already drawing interest from at least three other clubs.

Probably either Mike Iupati,Markius Pouncey,Anthony Davis or Taylor Mays with the 1st round pick. After that it's hard to tell. You can bet it will either be S or OL with the 1st round pick. It will depend on who's available at #27. I would love to see my Boys trade up to get Eric Berry from my Vols but more than likely not gonna happen.

We know that we WON'T take Tim Tebow, lol.

In my perfect world, we get Mike Iupati, but I don't think he's gonna fall to us. May very well trade out of round one.

I think we should get a left tackle, like Bruce Campbell from Maryland, he's big, fast, and athletic. He should be able to handle fast DE's coming off the edge.

It's either going to be Safety or OL unless for some unforseen reason Dez Bryan falls that far. If there aren't good prospects at either S or OL I'd easily expect them to trade out, they seem to do so every year anyway.

I'm not sure we can be excited by that pick. Cautiously optimistic, at best.

I would like to have seen Campbell...he seems like a great replacement for Adams, quicker, leaner, better head on his shoulders.

Agreed! Certainly a steal at 24.

Having watched a ton of ACC football, my opinion is that Bruce Campbell wasn't anything special on the field at Maryland.

I'm happy with the Dez Bryant pick. Puts pressure on Roy Williams to produce or he'll be gone sooner vs. later. If I had my way, he'd be gone tomorrow, heh.
