Re: Does anyone have a Yu Darvish CAP?
Darvish doesn't throw a changeup. Replace that with a forkball instead. Also, his curve is a 12-6 with *huge* break, and *very* slow...so slow you can't set it properly in the game. On average his 12-6 is around 60mph.Steam: BahnzoComment

Re: Does anyone have a Yu Darvish CAP?
I've seen him pitch all three games so far this year, and kept notes with the intent of adding him myself. He's very hard to nail down because his pitches are crazy. You can't come close in the game to slider he throws...it might be better to use a slurve with little break instead. Also, it's early, but it seems he has lost some velocity. But that might be coming back as he threw harder in his last outing than I saw the first two times. But people who say he has a 97mph+ fastball are dead wrong so far this year....Steam: BahnzoComment

Re: Does anyone have a Yu Darvish CAP?
i haven't watched him play for his team, but he threw between 90-93 during the world baseball classic. His slider does have a big drop. His curveball wasn't spectacular though (although i hear he wasn't his best in the WBC)I've seen him pitch all three games so far this year, and kept notes with the intent of adding him myself. Anyway, his speed record in a game was 95, however in throwing with/for scouts (w/ no mound) he has consistently thrown 97-98 inaccurately. So you could put his fastball at like 97 and low control or like 91 w/ higher control.Comment

Re: Does anyone have a Yu Darvish CAP?
The highest I've seen his fastball so far this year was 150kph...which is like 93mph. But usually he is throwing around 144-145 which is about 90. So far, his fastball really just serves to setup his other pitches, it's not really all that impressive.
His curve is an interesting pitch, but I'm sure if he were to pitch in the Major Leagues it would get crushed. Speaking of pitching here in the US, I'm pretty sure he has said that he has no intention of doing so anytime soon. I'm not sure how much time he has before he is able to, but it seems he's happy in Japan...for now.Last edited by Bahnzo; 04-04-2010, 05:36 PM.Steam: BahnzoComment

Re: Does anyone have a Yu Darvish CAP?
most of that came last year when he signed a 3.375M contract w/ his team. Then he saw Strasburg get 16.00M and Aroldis Chapman got 30.00M. Then he was like f*** japan. Anyway, reports have said he has asked to be released form his contract at the end of the season, and that he might get it.The highest I've seen his fastball so far this year was 150kph...which is like 93mph. Haven't read that. If anything the latest news I read was him clarifying that he wasn't talking about leaving Japanmost of that came last year when he signed a 3.375M contract w/ his team. Edit: And doing a little more reading, Darvish won't be able to leave Japan until 2014, so anything he (or anyone else) really says about it could totally change by then.Last edited by Bahnzo; 04-04-2010, 06:54 PM.Steam: BahnzoComment

I havent heard anything bout him asking to leave either, and they havent reported anything like that on the news over here. He's just considering the move more now that he's seen what they have gotten.Comment
