Looser won his 1st game after 0-14 start!

So finally I won my first game in spring training after 0-14 start! I can tell you- I was pretty frustrated that I am not able to win a single game on Veteran. I am new to The Show, but i have to win for hell something! You cannot immagine what is this feeling like, thinking you are absolut looser finally this gave me a big boost!
Day before I lost to White Sox 1:15 on same sliders, but as you know this game is great and acts and feels like a real. I told to myself that something gonna change, that I have to win, I choose a Metrodome in Minneapolis to play in (because I had a weird feeling that I can win there) and it was a right thing!

White Sox-Cubs 2:3 after 10 innings. Lee 1st RBI, Soriano solo HR and Ramirez RBI in 10th. HITS: 9:10 to my favour.

This is a message to all loosers frustrated with this pretty hard game: YES, YOU CAN. It takes a lot of patience but it is possible! I was having a good day with my pitchers, and started to mix them right after first sign of problems- 2 hits or Run scored.

    Yeeeeah I am very happy!

Yeah you know, I was going to start my own thread but I might as well just piggy back here.

      The bottom line, I suck.

Here is how most of my games go.

1st Inning, CPU team will get a run. They will either Walk, steal, base hit me. Or get a hit, then a double to knock in the run. Seems as though I give up a run in the 1st.

Trhough various methods, they generally pile on some runs in innings 4-7, it always ends up being 4-1, 5-1, 6-2 something like that going into the 7th and 8th. I always come back to make it like 6-4 or something, then the closer throws 0 balls over the plate,m but I swing anyway and strike out 2-3 times in the 9th. I have played prob 20-30 games and most go like this.

I may have won 2 games.

here is something telling. I added new winning team audio and it took me a week to hear it. I turned everything to rookie and still lost 5 games before I won one to hear it. When I found out it only played for 5 seconds I nearly lost it.

wtf could I be doing wrong? When I pitch, it seems like walks are programmed into this game as with some batters, I just cant throw strikes. Even when I hot the meter perfectly it will be a ball. I run the meter to the red, is that wrong to do? The ball very rarely goes to the location I want it to yet I am pretty good at hitting the line on the meter. whats the deal with that?

Also, Hitting, do you guys use the left stick or something to aim or anything?

Finally, can somebody explain to me how to steal if there are runners at 1st and 3rd and I just want the guy at first to steal second? every single time I try the way the book tells me, the dude on 3rd still tries to steal home. Is there a glitch or something?

I know I have to be doing things wrong. Im getting beat consistently and convincingly on rookie/rookie

Congrats asabique! Hopefully you can keep it going as well. I commend you for sticking with it, and not giving up on it. After all, if you can win constantly, the game absolutely sucks ::sarcasm:: But yeah, patience is really important to your success/failure in this game.

I love the Show for the fact that it's not a cakewalk, and I still see a plethera of scores in my games (rather its 8-0, 12-10 or 1-0 in my favor, or 1-0, 2-1, 8-0 or 15-8 in the CPU's favor.) That's the real beauty of the game.

Yeah, i will not give up on this game, however if you lose every game it is hard to find a motivation but this game was for me a system-seller. (I was ex-xbox 360 man). That means I bought PS3 only to play this game and I will do everything to become better and better!

Re: Looser won his 1st game after 0-14 start!

I think I lost 6 games before winning my first. I can't hit, field or pitch. Now, that one game I did win, was a no hitter with Jair J., I kid you not. So, for now, I have classic pitching down, and now I'm going to learn how to field. I can't stand losing so instead of hitting, I just fast forward to my pitching/fielding duties to learn that crap.

            I suck so bad.

Good job! I know how wonderfully frustrating this game can be. I have been getting stomped lately getting used to '10. I really want to play a franchise as the Nationals but I don't know if I can handle getting clobbered all the time!!LOL
But I will give it a shot. Hang in there for all of us Rookies we will get it sooner or later.

YES! We have to be strong and be cool. I also dont want to watch my oponent celebrate in my season all the time-I will play 82 games. 162 is too much for me.

One of the first few games I played. It was on Veteran and default sliders. As you can see I just tore up Jake Peavy. What you don't see is Carlos Pena's first homer because he hit 2. He hit one in the first inning right after Evan Longoria. Rex after the game about Longoria getting player of the game with 3 homeruns. " Yeah they couldn't pitch him anywhere today, He was the man. "

Sounds like me when I first played mlb 07, which was the first game of this series I owned on ps2(owned a lot of the 989 ps1 games).

I started out either 0-12 or 0-13 in my cubs franchise before finally winning a game. I think it may have been Rich Hill who finally came through for me.

Yeah, it is a great feeling to win in 10 innings, I had to fight like a pitbull, having constant fear that cpu will score and burry my dream.
Gorzelanny had great first 5 innings ( 1st time- in recent games he was a ****)
What I´ve learned is that I can win in this game, but one thing still bothers me- I cant score more than 4 runs. I will not be ble to win constantly with 4 runs.
