I think this will be very good for madden, madden 10 was a good game. But the madden team got the basics of football wrong with back of the endzone/sideline catches(they are atleast working on this now). The defense is what I want to hear blogs about, Will block shedding matter more? can you're defense play flat zones better. I hope to see something about the Defense soon. I can't wait to see some gameplay videos with the new Locomotion working, hopefully it comes out good in the final product. To me I think this will help the passrush more to with turning around the pocket.

No, I don't think you should say that because if memory serves me correctly, I believe that the blog and video of locomotion in Madden 09 only stated that it was improved. There was never any mention of the whole thing being ripped out and started over from scratch. I'm not 100% sure though. The mention of FIFA's locomotion technology into Madden alone, far distances itself from anything we heard about locomotion in 2008 about Madden 09. I understand why people don't want to get there hopes up about Madden 11 after being let down in previous years, but I do think that these recently released gameplay improvements are a sign that they are truly serious about improving the gameplay this year.-MattComment

I know I am posting a little late, but who cares, right? This is a good step for EA. My wishlist this year was a Realistic Locomotion System, Make Ratings Actually Matter, Make Blocking Realistic, and Improve The Franchise. So far, Realistic Locomotion is in. Can they make all ratings matter and not just a few? Can they make the blocking better than what 2k8 has? If so, I'll love Madden 11. 10 was a good game, but is behind thanks to 06-09. Hopefully they make an even bigger stride this year.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

The locomotion is interesting. Interesting to see how it will be implemented and where do we go from here with it.
I have a wait and see attitude about prior information released. (wr catching)
Also, I'm interested in finding out if tuning locomotion is the leading feature or what else they have in store for us. My gut tells me no, because I'm sure there might be other features released at a later date that may topple tuning locomotion.
Homestretch for semester, good luck!!!!"You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling."Comment

I have little doubt that Tiburon has a "bigger" bombshell to drop. Or at least what would be considered a bombshell in their mind, but as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't get much bigger than improving locomotion and momentum. If what ever game changer that they were alluding to that we wouldn't see coming doesn't have anything to do with making gameplay more realistic, they can keep it to themselves.Comment

If they knew what they were doing they'd still be making football games. The fact that they chose to make crappy baseball games and hockey games that few people buy and are subpar compared to others in their genre and their latest basketball game is glitchy and is still subpar IMO--instead of doing something along the lines of Backbreaker, where they could at least compete?

If they had more money than EA they would still be making football games. And going by the majority of basketball fans, the 2k series beats Live easily. I would have to agree to. Live is nothing like real life. The animations look silly and on loose balls the players walk half the time when you hold down the sprint button. And I love their baseball games. 2k9 wasn't the greatest game, but 2k10 showed much improvement and has been a solid game this year. And I don't play hockey games often, but I liked them both, but I though 2k's was slightly more realistic while EA's had the better graphics, but it still had silly looking animations all EA games are plagued by.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

And I am going to disagree with you. NBA Live was okay this year, but was broken. The game just didn't feel right and the players didn't move naturally. Almost every pass was swatted away unless you changed sliders, and when it was swatted away, players didn't sprint towards it ever. I had many time where my players would knock a pass out of the air. Walk towards it and pick it up just to get chased down by Shaw on the fast break because they were moving so slow. That should never happen. My player should have sprinted for the ball, picked it up, sprinted down towards the basket and scored off a dunk or layup.
But w're on the Madden board, so I won't go much further on Live. And 2k can't make an Arena Football game since EA owns the rights to that as well. And I'd say they won't be making another unlicensed game because the fact is, football fans don't want an unlicensed game no matter how good it is. 2k8 is a prime example. And since you keep bringing up poor sales, do you know how much their Baseball or hockey games sell annually without looking it up?“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”
