Re: NCAA Basketball 10 Available, Post Impressions Here
Just got the game because I am tired of playing 2k8 for 3 years. Here are my initial impressions:
- I am not noticing the horrible CPU post game like others have. Sure, a couple times they get the ball and just shoot it right away, but it is so quick I can't block it and I've seen a lot of nice drop step moves and some pass outs.
- Love the Motion Offense, and all the plays. My high school team actually runs a variation of the Dribble Drive, so running it in this game is awesome.
- The rosters, appearances, and ratings in this game are pretty bad. I mean a walk-on from UConn is rated a 79, John Wall is in the 90's for 3 pointer. Some guys have the wrong skin color. Even with downloaded rosters, it's still bad.
- I thought without tendencies that star players wouldn't take over games for the CPU. I was wrong, as John Wall dropped 24 on me in a 10 minute half game the first time I played.
- I like the presses, and zone defenses in this game, as they are not as hectic in 2k8s where steals in the backcourt are easy. Presses really force teams to make quick shots, so if your an up-tempo team it plays to your favor.
- Passing in this game is crazy. I love the off-ball control, as I like to cut somebody into the weakside of a 2-3 zone for some easy buckets. Once I see a team like Syracuse's zone rise a little bit, I can zip a pass behind the D. Also the freestyle passing leads to some great passes for bigs finishing.
- Stars can do some really cool stuff in this game. In a game against my brother, Ohio State at Xavier, I had 40,11 and 10 with Evan Turner thanks to some great free-style passing and some amazing euro-steps, step backs, and up and unders. He had 58 with Jordan Crawford as he did the same in a 3 overtime thriller. At the end of the game we had to have Crawford or Turner shoot because they couldn't be stopped and we couldn't risk some one else shooting.
So far I've had a good experience with this game.I will always, always be a Jets fan. But trust me it hurts.Comment

Yea I don't understand some of the EA ratings, When I saw Wall at 90 for 3 pt, I was amazed, he's probably a 69... But there's alot of great roster sets you can download on here, so it reflects the college game in real life..Just got the game because I am tired of playing 2k8 for 3 years. Re: NCAA Basketball 10 Available, Post Impressions Here
Just played an amazing game, Michigan State vs. Butler in the Final 4. Butler was killing me, and had a 18 point lead with 9 minutes left in the game. I roared back though, thanks to turnovers and my transition game, which by the way is pretty good in this game. Summers and Lucious were nailing 3's left and right, and with 30 seconds left I was down 6. Summers hit a deep shot, but his foot was barely on the line. Then Butler inbounded to Hayward, who I fouled and he hit both. Still, Summers hit another long range bomb, 3 of his 20. Down 3, Butler gave it to Smith, who calmly hit both freebies with 6 seconds left. I threw it to half-court and called timeout.
On the inbounds play, Lucious caught it and hit another deep 3, and the deficit was cut to 2. I fouled Mack this time, who had 18 on the night, and he hit the first with .7 seconds left. He missed the second one, and I had a chance with a 90 footer, but it sadly came nowhere close. Butler had advanced to the National Championship game in front of their home crowd.
Overall, I am loving this game, but I can't find much to do so this simulation of the Final 4 is atleast making me want to play this game. Next up, WVU vs. Duke, and the winner faces Butler.I will always, always be a Jets fan. But trust me it hurts.Comment

It seems the PS3 version is far less prone to freezing and Deadly Cane's roster is fantastic. So definitely grab it for PS3 I'd say.Comment

Re: NCAA Basketball 10 Available, Post Impressions Here
I think this game is pretty good. I play it almost everyday especially since its tourney time. The graphics are good. I like the motions in the game. I was debating on trying 2k8 with the rosters but im not going to. The things I can't stand is in the first year of the dynasty a person can't customize their schedule. If someone wants a quick fix on a mid major school like Chattanooga, ETSU, etc they have to go pretty much perfect to get ranked. I played a dynasty with UTC and I had to be 25-0 before I even cracked the top 25. I wish the rosters were a whole lot better as well. What is the point of having tattoos on the edit menu when a person can't even use them? I still havent gotten that. Another thing is editing the class. I know for Tennessee they have Skylar McBee as a black senior and Tennessee's best incoming freshman not even on the game. I just wish they would have put 1/4 of the time into this game as they do NBA live. If they done this maybe they would have sold enough and would actually make the game next year. Overall the gameplay is great and I love it.V,BComment

Re: NCAA Basketball 10 Available, Post Impressions Here
Sadly i have to agree with ehh, picked up Ncaa 09 and cpu post game is far better than 10, there's much less of contact animations, less autoblock and less FT. Cpu is less predictable, specially the ultraboring shot from inside.
That leads at slight different (in part, better) game than 10, even if it lacks completely carry ball animations from edge (players stand still like stupid dummies) and all is more robotic. Ive noticed the passing system is FAR better than 10, u never miss an icon pass, 10 does, but it have the freestyle pass then is exciting and spectacular but less accurate. On the plus side 10 motion is great and presentation is out of this world.
It seems Live engine 2009 improve some things, but others are worst.
DC roster can fix some post cpu issues, but not completely and not for all colleges.
Dnt know what to think honestly... Switching back to 09 giving an overall much enjoiable game, and its weird.Comment

Re: NCAA Basketball 10 Available, Post Impressions Here
Has anybody noticed that if you go to a guys stat and ratings page notice that for awards it shows 2010-2011. I was looking around at what some guys were doing in my dynasty and noticed that Xavier Henry awards and honors was for the 10-11 season and so was other players i looked at. I guess just something else EA screwed up on, I guess I should not be surprised. Some days i consider going back to 2k8 but I know it would get stale fast without the presentation and graphics plus player movement that EA did do right.Comment

Re: NCAA Basketball 10 Available, Post Impressions Here
I just got the game last week and have a stupid question...
How do recruiting points work? I started a Depaul Dynasty and it gave me 95 points. I assumed that the points would replenish each week, so I used all 95 right away. I've simmed ahead three weeks now and still have no points. Were those 95 just a one time thing?
This is my first time playing an EA basketball game since PS1, and the game gives zero description on the Dynasty mode. I just assumed the points were replinished weekly like 2k8.Co-Commish of the OS Vets I & II

Re: NCAA Basketball 10 Available, Post Impressions Here
Yeah, your point total is for the entire season. There is a thread in here somewhere that explains how to recruit, it's pretty darn easy.
Something like
Week 1: Send email/internet research
Week 2: Send letter of interest
Week 3: Offer scholie

What would be a reasonable price to pick this game up for, in your opinion?Comment
