Re: Progressive lighting?
The two McNabb screenshots sort of point to it being in. I would imagine we'd get at least what NCAA 10 had if not an actual progressive system. I'd like to see progressive lighting + dynamic weather, but thats probably out of the picture.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Progressive lighting?
How so?
I've given up hope on Madden regarding lighting. For whatever reason they are content on games being played in a stale, unchanging world. Everybody knows how realistic it is to play a game during a 3-1/2 hour orange sunset.
Change in lighting has a dramatic affect on the feel of the game...shadows get longer as the game progresses...it makes it 'feel' like it is late in the game.
The Show does an excellent job of this. I wish Madden would take note and implement a few things themselves. The stadiums in The Show feel like they are alive.Comment

Re: Progressive lighting?
Why? Idk about the Dynamic lighting, but just the fact that they tried to go 'live weather' and also adding cut scene of the crowd leaving, gives me hope that they are at least considering implementing Dynamic Lighting/Dynamic Attendance.
You could be right by 'highly doubting' it, but id, I hope its there....Comment

Re: Progressive lighting?
I have not heard any news on it yet. We are 4 months from release and alot of news to find out, so sooner or later you will find your answer.

Why? Because is dont see it being a priority. If it IS in i would be very very happy. But i just dont think it will be ...thats all...nothing to back it up....I just dont think it will make it in.Why? Re: Progressive lighting?
I respect your opinion, and you could be right...but all I'm sayin is that based on the strides they made with the overall presentation last year with 'Live Weather', and little cut scenes with the crowd leaving the stadium (even though the stands would still clearly be packed), I think it would only be natural for them to take those aspects and build from them. And your right, its not a priority -- because as most people expect, they want Franchise Mode fixed and Gameplay (which is top on my list too -- specifically Gameplay), but at the same time...we are talking about 3 TOTALLY different departments. The Art/Graphics/Presentation department that handles dynamic lighting, dynamic attendance has NOTHING to do with player ratings, locomotion, franchise mode, or gameplay in general.
But all in all, Nobody knows though, so we'll just have to wait and see..Last edited by lolfalconsbeatu; 04-14-2010, 03:54 PM.Comment

Re: Progressive lighting?
This. No reason progressive lighting shouldn't be in this year... I created this same thread last year and Ian dropped in to get clarification on what I was referring to. Even after a few pictures came out, notably the ones in Heinz field, we were all convinced it was in.
Dynamic weather would be phenomenal and something that was in last gen, but I can't imagine this was a priority for the team this year.Comment

Re: Progressive lighting?
Dynamic Weather : When your playing a game with overcast skies, it rains for a little, goes back to overcast, or when your playing a 4:15 game, it starts out as Dusk, than its totally dark by the end of the game...
Live Weather : When its raining in NY (in real life), its raining in madden. When its 2 A.M in NY (real life), and you play with the Giants/Jets, it shows as a night game in madden.
...Maybe someone else can explain better, I hope this helps though.Last edited by lolfalconsbeatu; 04-14-2010, 08:48 PM.Comment

Re: Progressive lighting?
If the two 11 pictures are from the same game, then judging by the reflections of the sun on the helmet, the sun appears to have gone down in the sky and has gotten closer to the horizon. Again, that could just be because McNabb is on a different yard line, but it is a good sign sort of...How so?
