Without a shadow of a doubt, this is a release day purchase for me. I feel like EA is listening to their customer base and we're getting things that we've asked for. I'm one of the ones who has never been that disappointed in this game. Yeah, it's lacked on the current consoles, but I've still gotten my money's worth by playing this game all summer long and into the early part of the next year.
I'd like to see better gameplay and I believe it's coming. Presentation and atmosphere is HUGE in college football and right now, the presentation looks great. If they can just address the atmosphere, this game could really be one of the all-time greats and I mean it. This series should be a cash cow for EA and I've always wondered why they let this game become anything less than great, but I don't feel like it's ever been "bad," at least in my opinion.
I am hoping that the other presentation surprise is new/multiple broadcast teams. I'm all for the team entrances and halftime shows, College Gameday, etc... but I could live without them. Just give me a great, get-your-adrenaline-pumping opening sequence to each game, focus on the gameplay (like making offensive line ratings matter) and I'm set as far as presentation goes.
I hope sooner, rather than later, they look at adding to the recruiting system. We should be able to get verbals from high school juniors, high school all-star games (where a recruit picks their school) and a national signing day.
I'm all about the meat and the potatoes. The presentation is nice and all and I love it, but I just hope that is not the main thing that will be addressed/focused on in NCAA 2011.
