For the record, that out route by Ohio State WR #82... there's an animation that's supposed to be there that didn't play. That's a bug. Can't really account for the rest, but that one I thought I'd ease some minds. Same thing was going on in Madden at CD, it's high on the fix list before release.There are two types of people on OS: Those who disagree with me, and those who agree.

So, does the animation slow everything down? Or does he still turn at the same pace while just planting a foot in a realistic manner? If its the latter, than its pointless.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Here's what I don't get: seeing what's wrong shouldn't be that difficult. Send a team of 12-15 people to watch like 10 games of football and make a list of EVERYTHING that happens in the games that is different from the current product. Step 2: narrow the list down to the things that differ the most. Step 3: fix them. These guys are professionals, they SHOULD know how to fix the problems once they see them. I'm just not entirely sure they even see them since we keep getting.... this. And if they can't fix them, fire them, and hire someone who can.Comment

This is something I have been wondering about... when the next, next-gen releases {PS4/720} will they have to start completely from scratch? Meaning the few things that are finally being brought into the game after 5 years on PS3/360 will they suddenly be gone again?About what I expected. A long time ago I realized that the problem with EA's football games has been the engine they made. It just is too weak.
I don't expect anything good to come from this gen's EA football.
I don't expect them to go with that other one, but I hope the next gen gives us players that have to physically plant their feet and account for their balance and momentum on every turn, spin, jump, or whatever. Otherwise, they should trip and stumble over their own feet and fall on their face. If I go crazy and giggle the analog and make the player do all kind of crazy herky jerky stuff, he should lose his balance and fall over.
If you're reading me EA, next gen, start with movement before you even touch making the actual game of football.
Gotta learn to walk before you learn how to run a post corner.
I just don't believe the community can take more disappointment whenever the next, next-gen drops. For all the promises that were made for PS3/360 it feels like the majority of them were lies. Current gen games are so disappointing. Either the core systems can't do what we were told they would be able to do or... the game developers have no clue how to tap into the power of the current gen systems.
So what hope do we have when the technology and power are increased?Dr Death

I think people also must remember that EA is still working with an old engine. They are building new tech around the engine that works with the latest consoles which have some serious horse power. It's definitely not an easy thing to do because a lot of the time, things don't play nice together. Locomotion was even supposed to be in Madden 10 and WAS there at CD but was removed because of the bugginess it caused. Obviously, locomotion didn't play nice with what was already apart of the engine and/or some/one of the other new things such as Pro Tak.
I think EA wants a hell of a lot more in their football games especially in lieu of the fact that so many hold 2KSports football games (and b-ball games) so dearly but it's just not that easy to do as many of us may think.
People must also remember that EA's sports engine(s) is NOT the same as what 2KSports created, point blank. It's almost like comparing a Red Delicious apple to a Macintosh apple - They're both apples BUT different with different tastes and consistencies. Meh... even if that is the case, why release footage that paints the product in such a bad light? Up until now they had even the most skeptical gamers on this board believing they finally turned a corner and with one video they lost all that momentum. I disagree Trey. Would you buy a new Toyota that may have all the faults they have gotten in trouble for? Or would you buy that Nissan made 6 years ago that has had the least problems of any car in the past decade?
We'd all go with the Nissan. In our case, the Nissan is 2k, while EA's football engine is the Toyota. Adding something new to a formula already broken is not how you fix things.
