agreed, something didnt look right. And it looked like guys were on skates at times when they just slid around the field without picking up their feet. The legs always seem to be bent from the knee down which is not realistic.

I was getting so excited for this game with the new locomotion but this video was a step back IMO.

They still look like they are gliding on ice. Man, that's disappointing. I don't like the running animations at all. There just seems to be no friction between their feet and the ground. That, and the lateral movements are beyond ridiculous looking. I wouldn't have released that video if I were EA. That's not an improvement.

I can only speak for myself, and I know I'm not expecting perfection, but the game just doesn't animate realistically, or even smoothly. I know it's early but really, how often do these video turn up looking totally different from the final? It's like the animations are missing frames or something. Idk, time will tell, but I'm not positive about this game anymore.

yea they really need to get foot planting down. There is no foot planting, guys just spin or cut without ever planting their feet and their feet just slide through the animation like they're on skates. The spin move looks HORRIBLE still. That was really my problem with the whole video is that the running still looks flat out bad. The knees always being bent, the ice skating runnings, the terrible cuts with no foot planting, the awful spin moves... those are what bother me. The other stuff i thought was alright. I can live with the WR looking back at the last second for the ball because in real life there are some routes where you know to look back after X amount of steps.

The running/cutting/foot planting/spin moves were the weak spot and without those things being fixed the game is still going to feel like last year's game.

That was a little underwhelming, to say the least. I'll wait for more footage before I decide anything. It does seem clear that a lot of those clips were used in the locomotion video released a few weeks back. Hopefully, those were from a really early, one-month old build.

I need some others to make a ruling. Does the ball speed and trajectory look exactly the same as it did in 10? It sure does to me. Again, I hope this video was made from a first build before they had time to make any real adjustments.

This video makes the football players look like they are ice skating....there are so many problems in this video: lack of footplanting (PS2 version looks WAAAAY better than this), lack of momentum, Defensive lineman just snaked around O-Line, no interaction, no battle of the hands, etc. And why are the players so robotic like??? Also College players are kind of huge in the video, not the case in real life....smh @ WRs looking like D-Lineman LOL This video has to be a joke, surely not a representation of 5years worth of work on Next-gen.

Not bad. Looks like an improvement over 2010, which is all we can hope for in gameplay, as most new features will be for presentation and things like that.

Well bro this is only a alpha build video. No one should be expecting perfection right now. That goes along with madden 11 trailer coming up thursday night aswell. All this alpha build stage. They know what they need to do and all. Nothing is perfect. I feel that this video should some promise. I'm not super impressed. But I like it. It is a work still in progress.

How many times are you going to fall for this "alpha build" nonsense?

Although Im not jumping ship (yet) due to a early video. It has become very clear to me that EA will forever be AVERAGE when it comes to animations. Their animations just dont look right. I think they could use some help from the former 2k (Visual Concepts) animators. These guys seem to have nailed animations in a football game. Pay them $$$ sign em up for next year so we can atleast see a DE make a realistic move around a Linemen, or a decent spin move (without freezing in place waiting for a defender to miss him).

By now one would think that the power of the 360 would allow better looking animations.

They simply need to get rid of this game engine. That's it. It's too jittery and lacks true momentum. Sure, some of these animations look ok, but the momentum of this game still looks odd. Especially with linemen and those in pursuit, they seem so robotic.

I remember when people used to complain about EA's last gen effort saying it was like "steering a boat". I guess EA really took that to heart when they came into this current generation, because that's totally gone now .

LMAO I KNOW RIGHT....But yooo..Do you remember the jump between Madden 2004 and Madden 2005 on PS2? ISH was like night and day on how they eliminated the turn on the dime movement and added the revamped player momentum system.
