On top of that, I enjoyed Madden 10, so I know NCAA 11 is going to be decent enough for me to play it. They always get the remnants of the previous Madden engine with refinement.
Good point. I too enjoy Madden 10 (still playing at least one game a week) so I'm sure NCAA 11 will be able to hold my interest. I just can't see myself plunking down full price for the game, though. I'll be waiting for it to go on sale before I buy.

Nope! If you're happy, then it's a good purchase! They don't need to make a sale with you, it's money in the bank.

Last year's game is a beer coaster at my place. Garbage. I wish I could erase the disk and burn some music on it.

Not owning a copy every year is not an option for me, I need football.

I'll buy it used. If the game is good, there won't BE any used copies available, right?

I've got money to burn. If EA wants it, they'll have to EARN it.

It is startling to see just how much better the running animations look in Backbreaker compared to the ****-sandwich we have seen from NCAA. For the first time I have actually started to be more excited about Backbreaker and Freakin' Tecmo Bowl than I am for NCAA and Madden.

I really do hope Backbreaker develops a strong community and provides us with the one thing EA is NEVER going to do - give the gamers a new perspective and ditch the damn 'god-cam' POV...

Something just doesn't look right with that video. I mean the games looks VERY nice as far a graphics are concerned, but it just doesn't look like there has a been a very big overhaul in gameplay. I didn't buy NCAA 10 last year in hopes to see HUGE changes to NCAA 11.

I can't see myself spending money on this game(a game which doesn't include my school, BTW) and it's looking like this.

HOWEVER, I will say that it is VERY early, and the game might actually turn out to be pretty good.
              NCAA: Florida A&M Rattlers
              NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars/Cincinnati Bengals
              NBA: Orlando Magic
              MLB: Atlanta Braves

Basically looks the same to me. Also noticed at .36 seconds that they still havent made the jostling look real and authentic. Aye DB Keeps a hand out on the WR to feel where he is so he can watch the eyes of the QB. 2k5 had that down packed. Hope they fix b4 launch or atleast Madden does.

Player models look fantastic, graphics overall look great.

Same old animations though. And that cut at :36 was really, really bad. I don't know why they would allow anyone to see that.

Most of all I'm disappointed to see that players still run in that weird robotic same way where their legs never fully rise.

But I like NCAA 10 (i shockingly preferred it over Madden10), so I'll probably like this too.

I almost feel as if EA each year is looking at a different game than I am when it comes to football. I mean some would say they lie but I always read their comments, blogs, etc and I get the feeling they're being truthful, but they're just looking at a different game than what we end up getting or something!!

This is the tact that I take.

I dont believe EA is being evil, dishonest, or whatever.

I honestly believe that they think that what they do, best reperesents what their customers want.

Remember Madden 09? When they brought in a bunch of those Madden tour bus dudes to show off all of their money plays?

Why would they do that? Its because they believe that is what their customer base wants.

How come the pass protection doesnt break down when the QB abandons his drop, and sprints out of the pocket? Why cant DE's contain the pocket and take basic, fundamental pass rush angles, how come CBs dont play the proper technique based on where their help is, why dont zone defenders converge on underneath routes until after the ball is caught? How come OL ratings are irrelevant? Its because they believe that the majority of their customer base do not care about these things.

You sir are probably right. It is just hard for me to accept the fact that this game is so much better on the last generation of consoles. It is really sad that EA has done a disservice to this franchise. Hopefully it will change this year... but it's not looking promising.

I think there's a lot of validity to this statement, Sporty.

It'd be nice to see EA really delve into the X's and O's of football because it is such a strategical game. But, EA is the only game in town so they have to try and appeal to everyone. It's easier to try and make the game accessible and fun to the casual and tournament-style gamer than it is to try and fine tune the game to fit the needs of guys like us that post on these message boards and can have in-depth discussions about what a weak-side linebacker's responsibility is in a Cover 2 scheme.

I don't necessarily fault EA for this. It's the Catch 22 of owning the exclusive rights to the NCAA and NFL licenses. With no direct competition, there's no way to satisfy everyone, yet if you want to play football, you are forced to buy EA since it's the only option.

WOW! I was not impressed with that video in the slightest! It looked way too much like NCAA 10. And I am dissapointed with the lack of detail done to the players facemasks. In the screenshots have the players have the wrong facemasks!

Hopefully Red Dead Redemption will be able to hold me over all summer. Because at this point NCAA is looking just like NCAA 10.

So I just finished watching the gameplay video on operationsports.com. I must say that I'm not impressed! It basically looks like Madden 10 in college unis and NO DREADLOCKS!!! Not to say that Madden 10 is a bad looking game but this is crazy.... Next gen has been out for around 5 or 6 years and the minor details (dred...s, helmets, color cleats, etc) should be a given and we shouldn't have to beg for them to be in the game. In part they are but why so freakin long to get it. I know this is the early stages but you guys owe the consumers the best product possible and we shouldn't have to be comparing or asking for things that came in the Old Gen to be in the Next Gen. U guys are making a killing off of hard earned money and we should never feel like we didn't get the best. I know it's early so this might not be the finished product but if it is then Tiburon sucks....Don't disappoint us again!!!

The DE's rip move is horrible (FSU vs UF gameplay video). If you have non-athletes doing the motion capture this is the result! Next time pay attention to the battles in the trenches EA.... It's violent! I know cause I've been there. (University of Hawaii '98) From cut blocks (another feature missing from the game), double teams, pancake blocks, RIP and SWIM moves that are meant to get you to the QB, and Bull Rush moves that even level OL (all features missing from the game). If a DE or DL tried to rip like that (FSU vs UF gameplay) he'd get his *** handed to em!!! I hope a lot will change before the launch but it's only 3 months away and I doubt it. I think EA's only concern is getting this game out, taking our money, and feeding there fat faces!!! I'm not the type to make insults but hopefully out all of the insults this is another to get your attention!!!

From every forum on the game to posts...... EA ur getting ripped a new one and so far rightfully so. I hope you're truly paying attention to all of the disgruntled people about this game. Give the people what they want!!!! If this is your only job for 12 months out of the year you should've had this perfected years ago.... I've heard excuses like it takes a long time to develop these games.... Well let's see the 360's been out for about 6yrs and the PS3 for about 4 (just guessing) and this is all you have to show for it. Step your game up.... You're long overdue!!!!!
