Although I wasn't "wowed" by the vid I'm still not going to avoid this game simply because a WR didn't plant his foot in the ground while doing an out pattern. I can live with the results as I think this is the biggest improvement in one year for the series. Then again, there's nothing to really compare it to.

Not exactly.. the Show and NHL series don't follow that trend. Oddly, those two franchises are always up for sports game of the year.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Video: Gameplay Footage
I wasn't really responding to anyone in particular with my post above, just the community in general who seems to be in denial. This is part of the problem I think is people expect a radically improved game and then they are disappointed. That's probably why I'm not disappointed year after year, I expect minimal improvements and I get that and I can live with it. I don't like it but it's tolerable.
Having hope is the cruelest fate of all. Let your hope go and embrace the game for what it is. Or simply give up on it altogether. A lot of you would be a lot happier I think.
I agree.
It's late April, The demo drops in June and the game comes out on July 13th.
This game is probably about 70%-75% complete, and I may be being conservative. To expect much of an upgrade over what we are seeing now, is setting yourself up for release date anger.Last edited by sportyguyfl31; 04-21-2010, 11:20 AM.Comment

This was a half-*** video. I don't think this is what we're going to be buying when the game comes out mid-july. This was just probably something they threw together when the game was in it's beginning stages. Look for the game to be a lot better than this video. Don't let this video get you down!Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Video: Gameplay Footage
Like any complex issue you have to get to the root of the "perceived problem". Perhaps EA needs a shakeup in those positions that decide the direction of the game--that's assuming that EA thinks there is a problem. For better or for worse this game won't change til the decision makers change.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Video: Gameplay Footage
I've watched this video probably ten times, and I'm definitely psyched to play this year.
I do wonder one thing though:
There clearly seem to be a few missing frames here and there. I'm curious as to if this video was put together using replays. Because, if that were the case, the last couple years EA has openly stated that replays run at a lower framerate and are slightly compressed, and this video DEFINITELY has that look.
Either way, I like a lot of what I'm seeing in there, and definitely look forward to seeing some actual gameplay vids.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Video: Gameplay Footage
UMiami - those games go through that cycle as well, I know because I'm a fan of The Show and the NHL game. It's just a bit more subdued is all. There is no question the level of highs and lows for EA football is much higher and much lower than other games but other games all follow that same cycle in almost every regards.
BTW - The Show's online play still sucks and I for one am starting to get some good anger going toward that once darling of a game.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: NCAA Football 11 Video: Gameplay Footage
it was all in replay mode and I would guess the build the videos were taken was from before the community day event, just based on the comments of the them have said. some of the footage was definitely as old as the locomotion blog that came out, as some of the same footage were in both(some at different angles).I've watched this video probably ten times, and I'm definitely psyched to play this year.

The realest in me is telling me that the heavy base and groundwork for the game is finished (rehash of last years game)..and this will prob be in the game..so next year we can look forward to things like realistic cuts no morphing and recievers looking back for the ball when honestly they should of beeeeeeeen in the game years ago screw the graphics i want a game to feel good control wise and have heavy detail on gameplay like i see on saturdays..I hope im wrong though :/ these could be vids from a while back but they couldnt release them till now.
The last clip made me rage the most tho that break tackle animation looked stupid that would not of happened freeze it around 1:04 and think about real life and physics the only way that could happen is if the player himself staged it lol looks like he got blindsided by a imaginary blocker he gonna be on espn Jacked up segment I aint know casper played football lol..i like the locomotion part tho that was smooth as hell i hope the game plays like that in the final buildComment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Video: Gameplay Footage
NCAA is looking very sub-par as of right now. I know it's early, but how often have we seen videos like this that turn out to be the game we get in July. I guess we will have to wait and see.......Comment

I completely agree and that's why after watching a few more times (let's face it, we're all lunatics on this site about our football games), I am still pretty psyched about this game.I've watched this video probably ten times, and I'm definitely psyched to play this year.

Replays have always looked very average for this game. Heck, the damn ball still doesn't spin during replays on the PS3.
