Re: NCAA Football 11 Video: Gameplay Footage
mgoblue - I realize that but I said that NCAA and Madden have had higher peaks and valleys than other games. But to act as if EA's football games are the only ones that go through that entire process is to profess a sincere ignorance of the game industry as a whole.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: NCAA Football 11 Video: Gameplay Footage
Everyone just needs to relax a little. There will be a lot of info released from Friday through the weekend and I think people will start to feel more positive. Hopefully we get a better video to see. Bumble from OS is at EA right now playing all their games and loving NCAA 11 after not liking NCAA 10. He can't say much until Friday due to NDA.

You have a point, but I tend to think that that 80% makes up a very small portion of the buying public. I have plenty of friends who buy this game and Madden, but never go on a forum or visit many websites before buying the game. They see it on the shelves, go "New NCAA/Madden" and drop their $60. We might all be the smarter gamers, but we aren't the be all end all only target for the game.Well certainly just buying the game and being cool with it not being what the community wants isn't going to change anything. I've said it over and over again. I love College Football, that's why i'm so passionate about these kind of posts. I'm not a "fair-weather" fan, but I just want to have my game back. I'm not going to sit by and just let it go if I don't like it, because my views seem to coincide with 80% of the readers of these forums.I bleed Garnet and Gold. In The 'Slim Reaper' We Trust. Re: NCAA Football 11 Video: Gameplay Footage
I remember the guys who went to community day the last couple of years also telling how us how great the game was/hyping it up and look how the final product turned out at least to most of us. It wasn't anywhere close to being a great game. Not to totally discount their opinions but I will take them with a grain of salt. I think the excitement of playing a NCAA for the first time each year may cause some flaws to be overlooked at community day.
It also seems like in general the initial opinion of any game tends to be overly positive before the flaws start to become apparent. I did the same thing with NCAA last year, liked it when I first got it, after that wore off I literally couldn't stand it to the point where I completely stopped playing it.Last edited by mgoblue678; 04-21-2010, 02:19 PM.My Teams

Re: NCAA Football 11 Video: Gameplay Footage
from the cd guy Bumble
i knew that vid was fishy. think about it everything released has been blogged up to now. is blogged a word?Initial NCAA11 video should have never been released as it was not meant for the masses. Rest easy all I think fans of the series will like.
and from Ian
For unreleased games, do you prefer to see more footage (that may be in rough shape), or less footage (that is more polished)?Last edited by Bruce Wayne Jr; 04-21-2010, 02:22 PM.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Video: Gameplay Footage
I would say that's obvious.
But I'm 95% sure of what we saw in that video will be in the retail version of the game.-Rocky Balboa"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Video: Gameplay Footage
Talk about a saving through.
I'm not giving up on anything until I see legit, commentated gameplay, but I highly doubt the final product will be all that more improved. Unless they can eliminate all the sliding jerky animations and we really see what this locomotion stuff got.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Video: Gameplay Footage
No offense to the Community guys that are here, but each year they blow nothing but hot air in this and other forums like it. They have yet to ever call it like it is and nothing they say should ever be taken as fact. They are nothing more than an extension to the marketing team at EA.I remember the guys who went to community day the last couple of years also telling how us how great the game was/hyping it up and look how the final product turned out at least to most of us. That video for example...
They say they are not allowed under NDA to disclose anything about the game, but they sure as heck will jump in the fire with both feet to defend something that is released that other players dont agree with.
There has not been one year yet that the community day people have been upfront and genuine about the game, and I dont expect this year to buck the trend.Comment

I'd hate to hear what you might have to say if you did mean to be offensive. No offense to the Community guys that are here, but each year they blow nothing but hot air in this and other forums like it. Re: NCAA Football 11 Video: Gameplay Footage
If that was offensive than I think people are a little too sensitive and need to have thicker skin. He put it a little harshly for sure, but I agree with his general sentiment. Even though I disagree that is it as deliberate as he puts in terms of the why people may attending community day over hype the game. I think it is more a product of not having extended time with the game and that initial positive feeling when you first play a new version.Last edited by mgoblue678; 04-21-2010, 03:14 PM.My Teams

He all but called the folks who attended the CD shills and liars. How could anybody not take offense to that?If that was offensive than I think people are a little too sensitive and need to have thicker skin.
