The game flow deal scares the crap out of me personally!!!
I will wait and see but I don't like the idea that the CPU may be "leading" me towards certain play calls. I like to be in control and do things that someone may think are unorthodox in my play calling when playing a human opponent to throw them off kilter - chess anyone?
playing games in half the time sounds awesome, but if that means letting the CPU pick my plays you can absolutely forget it! The only way that would even come close to working is if I get to pick every play in the playbook (custom playbooks anyone?) because some of the plays in Madden playbooks are completely useless and no playbook follows anything that remotely resembles an actual NFL system.
So far, from what I have heard the only thing that gets me even sort of excited is the "alleged work" on WRs fighting for the ball and I can't even remember if that came from EA or some speculative source.
Point is - I am in a full on MO state of mind - like "SHOW ME!!!"Comment

I think he may be referring to the idea that the ability to have your gameplan set by the CPU/AI to match the real life counter-part will make for a more 'sim' experience for those that gravitate towards the same 8-10 plays.

Love the feature for the fact that when Im playing against the cpu, I hate calling my own plays due to there being to many that I know are gonna work. I use "Ask Madden" but its not that great (although it gives me closer games). It does some things like a draw on 3rd and 14 which I like cause I would usually try and pass for the 1st down.
This feature sounds like a upgraded version of "Ask Madden" So I am excited about it if its more geared towards what the teams would often do and depending on the down and distance. Its to easy to beat the cpu when you call your own plays (IMO)Madden25 next gen cant come soon enough!!!Comment

It just doesn't feel like football to me with out it. It's like playing half a game. No reason to read a defense. Just find the guy running a straight route and throw it to him. *yawn*
Can't even read a defense properly if you wanted to (though I hope locomotion fixes part of the read problem) because of the passing mechanism, psychic DBs, and bad ball arcs that allow every LB and their grandma to jump up and make a pick.Comment

^^^ all well and good, but if they really want me to use more plays they could just let me "build" my playbook, in which case I could take out formations I never use, fullhouse comes to mind, any shotgun formation - absolutely hate the shotgun from a strategic standpoint cuz there is no mystery about what you are gonna do - actually I would have maybe four to six shotgun plays for end of half/game hurry up situations when the opponent knows you gotta pass anyway!
I am not talking about creating "custom" plays. Just let me "populate my playbook with the formations and plays that I like and it will naturally create more variety in my play calling. I use anywhere from 20 to 25 different plays in a game on offense but I could double that number by eliminating plays I don't use and adding ones I like out of or into my playbook!!!
This deal scares me to death cuz the trend in this gen of Madden has been to take control out of the players hands and make the CPU handle it and I hate that!!!
It used to be that you could get different types of moves based on how you hit the buttons, tap, press, hold and outside of passing and QB slides that has all but disappeared and the moves on the stick SUCK because there is no consistency - this is especially true for pass rush moves and ball carrier cuts/jukes.
The more control they take away the less I like the game!!!Comment

Why not? I would love to play someone with this feature now because it gets rid of all the BUMS/Cheesiers that go to there cheap tatics to win a game. I've seen people dominate online with just a handful of plays
.....Well now what happens when u are forced to execute the plays called for you? A true football fan/simulation player would have no problem at all IMO. Especially if the game is called as in a way that the team he is playing with really calls games.
IMO it forces the cheaters to play football the right way it is meant to be played. You cant FB dive all the time. You might actually have to learn how to play the game of football. Also what I love is once again if you are a true fan of football. When you play certain teams you know what to expect. You know certain teams tendencies. Is more a chess game IMO that way.
Seriously go play 10 play now games online........whats the results? Atleast 8 out of the 10 games the person you are playing is doing things that his team that he is playing with would not normally do. Or exploiting cheese plays. Take away their abilitiy to cheese and force them to play the way the team would play. Someone from CD said it perfectly in another thread. WHile he was the Patriots in 2nd and 14 they called draw (the patriots do this all the time) followed by a 3rd down screen to Faulk. Serious Question here: How many times would you have seen that sequence in a online match?.............NEVER!!! Cause people dont play according to how there teams play. There doing what works for the W.
Although I do not believe this will be the only way to play (of course

No, because you still have the option to call plays normally, which is what most competitive players are going to do.
Then you are no longer playing the game. The AI is calling the plays, you are a bystander.
I diagree. There's simulation, and then there's simulation. You've gone too far IMHO once you are no longer playing the game. Removing a gamers ability to call a play is taking it too far.
Nope, they'll just go and play calls normally.
No clue. The game doesn't have a decent passing game, nor proper momentum to make reads. I don't see any reason to play it online.
