If 2K Sports had the NFL Licence would people miss Madden?
Don't get me wrong madden in the past ten years had some great features like QB Vision, hit stick, playmaker, lead block, & etc. NFL 2k5 had the whole package in that one year gain tackle, WR Sliding there feet out of bounds plus halftime show. Thats one thing i don't get hat madden had the licence for all these years and they just signed with ESPN like for 2years and haven't gotten any espn presentation. At least you see the NCAA 11 football game is taking advantage of this deal. Also the gameplay on NFL 2K5 & on APF 2K8 is smoother and more realistic especially the running animations there great. You may have glitches here in there in 2k Football games but there not as Major as Madden. Let me know what yall think! -

I think if 2K had the NFL license it would take them a few years before they were close to as good as Madden is now."Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes." -

Ehh. risky topic. But, I think any exclusive license is a bad idea, even if its SCEA making the only baseball games for 360 and PS3.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

i think that everyone would buy the Next 2k Football game because the last one was so good that people are still playing it. Madden is putting these things like pro-tak, locomotion in different types of maddens, While 2k made a whole overall football game. I think that everyone would buy it, if they where be out a the same time in the next few years i think 2k would beat them in sales.Comment

Lets put it this way.2k5 has been played by many and enjoyed for going on 6 years now thanks to Finn's editor. That being said 2k5 also was undeniably better until this past year and still is better in some areas.
EA / Madden on the other hand, although improving, will always be the company that takes your $60,tempts you to buy add-ons online to improve the game, makes you pay $60 more for NCAA if you want draft classes because they sure wouldn't let you edit players/ratings during franchise. To top it off it would be a miracle if either stats were logical or a patch wouldn't be in dire need to make the game play right without screwing up something else entirely.Last edited by gr18; 04-26-2010, 09:59 PM.Comment

Re: If 2K Sports had the NFL Licence would people miss Madden?
The gameplay is so much different from Madden that it really makes it hard to go from one to the other (IMO).
In my experience, Madden has always been an easier game to pick up and play while 2K football was always more annoying to play at first... unless you are a dedicated 2K fan that ONLY plays 2K.
The only way NFL games will grow better is if there is competition between developers. 2K Baseball is a joke without MVP (which leaves 360 owners screwed for a good baseball experience). The same would be the case for football.Comment

NBA 2k10 is above average but is still a long ways away from being great.
Don't think because 2k made a great NFL game in 2005 that they would come right back (if they had the license) and make another great one.Comment

Re: If 2K Sports had the NFL Licence would people miss Madden?
I remember vividly the day I heard EA was given an exclusive license. I was playing Madden 05 at the time and enjoying it over 2k5. When I heard the news I got physically ill. You see, a few years back I had been enjoying Gameday when it folded for good. All I could think of was Madden is the only football title left, if it fails to deliver my favorite hobby is gone. Fast forward 5 years and that's exactly what happened.
So to answer the OPs question, yes. Every game series has cycles. Madden has been at the top and has been topped at different times by Tecmo, Gameday and 2k. Gamers never lose by having multiple titles to choose from.Comment

You are clearly assuming that if 2k did make the next NFL game that they would do an amazing job. Let me let you on a little hint. Their other titles in other sports games haven't exactly been good. The 2k NHL series for the past god knows how long has been atrocious.

This will lead to the same road we have been down before. I suggest people re-read the Trolling thread, we're not having the same results we had last year in ANY of our football forums.<a href="http://www.operationsports.com/Danimal/blog/6756-going-old-school-v1/">Read my blog Going Old School v1 GridIron! football.Comment
