Franchise Freezing
Is anyone else having franchises that constantly freezes. I had no problem my first season but starting my second season my game is constantly freezing. At first it was just when loading up my franchise. Now it is starting to freeze during games. I was in the top of the 9th the other night winning the game with 2 outs left and of course my game just decides to freeze up. I am sick of this and will quit playing the game until these issues get resolved. It is heartbreaking losing good play games because of 2K not knowing how to create a functioning game.Cubs (Completely Useless By September)Tags: None -

-There is a bug where generated rookies you have drafted cause the game to freeze when they come up to bat. (This is why you never noticed it in the 1st season, since you did not do a draft yet, and thus there were no generated rookies.)
Are you noticing it when a certain player comes up to bat? Possibly someone you just drafted and then promoted to the MLB level?
Other causes of freezing mid game
-Custom music sound-tracks (Do you use custom music?)
-RROD pre-cursor (Is it alll games or just MLB 2K10?) -

Yeah, there actually was a rookie on the opposite team up to bat when the game froze. Why are these rookies causing the game to freeze?Cubs (Completely Useless By September)Comment

Re: Franchise Freezing
Aha, so we found the cause.
First things first, I can assure you Ron2K and the Dev team was made aware of this. (If they fix it though, that is another thing.)
Second; Im not sure what causes the bug, but it is definetly "generated rookies" that the game creates to for the draft. If those guys are subsequently promoted to the MLB level by you or CPU controlled teams; they cause the game to freeze every time when they come to bat. (which is why you never had it occur in the first season.)
Naturally as the years go by, and more and more generated rookies are created for the draft every year, the game eventually becomes un-playable.
Its a horrible bug, and MUCH THANKS to duke777 from right here at OSforums for finding this bug.
Ron2K responded to ym email and said he would pass it along to the dev team.
I hope they were able to fix it for the patch.Comment

Re: Franchise Freezing
I can't take all the credit here, Smonee really was the person who found it. I just helped testing it and we both found out more about it until we realized it was all the drafted position players.
Anyways, if it doesn't get fixed, that'll be a big bummer. We'd have to edit everything about drafted rookies down to 0, and if they are on the big league roster we'd most likely have to trade with the team and then reverse the trade so the cpu will send them down. I'm already preparing for the worst

If this isnt fixed, IMO franchise mode is not worth playing past season 1.I can't take all the credit here, Smonee really was the person who found it. I just helped testing it and we both found out more about it until we realized it was all the drafted position players.

This bug; combined with the severe regression of pitchers due to the walk rating bug after season 1, makes franchise mode useless and buggy in season 2 or futher.
Franchise mode in its current state is nothing better than a single season mode.Comment

Re: Franchise Freezing
I have to agree. Honestly, if this isn't fixed then I don't see how I could even contemplate buying next years game. It took me 40 minutes to zero out 3 teams drafted position players, not to mention it took me an hour and a half to write down all the drafted players names. I should(barring any drastic changes) easily finish my first year at least and I definitely could see myself finishing two years in this game. But, after the draft year 2 I'll have to zero out all the drafted position players again(if it's not fixed) and I don't see myself doing this twice. I mean this is a great game and all, but franchise mode is a hassle just to be able to play it.If this isnt fixed, IMO franchise mode is not worth playing past season 1.

Re: Franchise Freezing
Just encountered freezing during my 3rd year (Amateur draft). Shut the system off then restarted and it worked fine.Comment

Re: Franchise Freezing
I've only had the game for 4 days now and have encountered 3 freezes and that was just playing play now games using Living Rosters. Somewhat frustrated because I really enjoy this game . I like the other game as well but this one just has a fun factor about it. Some minor quirks but I am digging this game a lot more for some reason. The poster formerly know as "FLIGHTWHITE"Comment

Re: Franchise Freezing
Yeah, too many freezes for me. Took my game in for some store credit, before it's too late.
The game has less glitches and bugs than 2k9, but still too many in important areas for franchise players like myself
Oh well, As the famous saying goes "Wait till next year"

Anything consistent with the freezes? Like, are they happening at the same time each game?I've only had the game for 4 days now and have encountered 3 freezes and that was just playing play now games using Living Rosters. Man, I want to get this game now that GS has that 25% discount on used games (online only), but I won't buy a game that constantly freezes.Currently Playing:
