The game flow idea is good but, do not have the option to switch your playbooks. keep it football. -
Re: Madden NFL 11 Hands-On Impressions (OS)
See, when turbo comes to mind I think of a cheat!
When you say sprint, I think of a guy seeing the hole and accelerating through it - within his acceleration/spd ratings but leaving the control of the timing of when to hit that full "sprinting as fast as I can accelerate" in my hands!!!Comment

If you want a true NFL experience then even one hour won't be enough. A sixty minute game that lasts three hours is what you get on Sunday's. I don't care who you are, nobody is going to be playing a game of Madden that long.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Hands-On Impressions (OS)
This part of the hands on scares me!Minimal improvements for suction blocking and A.I on O-line and D-line (the A.I will still warp when out of position).Did I read this correctly? With suction blocking still in the game it leads me to think that the gameplay is not improved at all.Since players now have to plant before moving, suction blocking and lackluster AI seem to have at least been minimized when it comes to the offensive and defensive lines. During my limited amount of time playing the game, I was able to get solid pressure on the QB when it made sense. In addition, the CPU also pressured me if I attempted to hold the ball for too long in the pocket.
If a player has to plant his feet now before moving then how is it that suction blocking is still present?During a "suction block" the player would warp/360 turn/fly/teleport to the position thus negating the foot plant. Lets just hope in madden 11 your O-line or D-line doesnt pull a madden 10 and magically let the defender by-pass them so they can tackle you.
Also,If you hold the ball to long of course the CPU will pressure thats been happening since madden 1.Thats the logic of the A.I since to follow the ball so, of course there would be pressure when holding the ball long.My blog: http://lazy-rainbow.blogspot.com/Comment

Minimized in what you quoted means they don't show up as much as it did previously. They've greatly reduced it.This part of the hands on scares me!Minimal improvements for suction blocking and A.I on O-line and D-line (the A.I will still warp when out of position).Did I read this correctly? It doesn't mean minimal improvements.Comment

By any interpretation, I think he, and everyone else as well, was hoping that it was eliminated. Not minimized. I think that is what his frustration is."You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling."Comment

the game flow sounds good but if its only for the user thats disappointing. we should have been able to customize the cpu playbook as well.
madden is catering for the head to head crowdNOW PLAYING: NBA Live, madden 11,12, battlefield v, F1 2020 and injustice 2 and COD:MW

Re: Madden NFL 11 Hands-On Impressions (OS)
minimized does not mean does not "neccessarily" mean that its be greatly reduced. the way I read is "hey, you already know the current engine for OL/DL interaction causes suction blocking. working within the constraints of that engine, it "appears" that EA has reduced the effect of suction blocking as much as possible"
i'm anxious to see if the adjustments are merely cosmetic. I think Ian has admitted in the past that suction blocking cannot be eliminated while still using the current engine.(please correct me if I'm wrong)Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Hands-On Impressions (OS)
EASports has continued to listen to my wants almost directly, I swear. I can't complain one bit with the direction of this game. I still remember playing the garbage years (06-09) and know how far it came in 1 year. New locomotion and blocking fixes? G f'n G!
I'm pumped already!Xbox Live Gamertag: CreatineKasey

I have a question about the removal of the sprint button. Does it still work for QB's behind the LoS? Because you can't just be sprinting at full speed with the QB after the snap, that would create all kinds of problems as faras the passing game goes.
I know this is a bit off topic but, I think they should also change the configuration of the QB avoidance stick. It is my experience that hardly anyone uses it, mainly 'cause they have to take their finger off the left stick or the face buttons which slows down reaction time. My advice would be to put it on the Left stick, and in order to activate the avoidance system you would have to click L3 (PS3), and just move in the direction you want to move to.Comment
