We are monitoring and fixing issues in this thread.
Thanks for your patience.
The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.
re: Tecmo Bowl Throwback Impressions (PS3 and 360)
Initial impressions, it's awesome.
It plays just like it did. I love the 3D visuals, but if you press RB, you can change to the old school graphics on the fly. Very cool.
It is exactly the old rosters with new names, I only looked quick but couldn't find Jacksonville, Carolina, Baltimore, or Houston (Texans). The Titans are in Houston, the Rams are in Los Angeles, and the Cardinals are listed as Phoenix instead of Arizona.
re: Tecmo Bowl Throwback Impressions (PS3 and 360)
Injuries are in, substitutions are in, fumbles are in, and the old school season mode is in. It's just like it was on the SNES, even keeps leaderboards of your friends season's.
re: Tecmo Bowl Throwback Impressions (PS3 and 360)
It ain't the same game. The 80 yard bombs are gone. You can't change the colors of the teams, just the names, and it doesn't effect the field graphics. So if you change Los Angeles to Oakland, the endzone still says Los Angeles. It feels more like the PS1 version than the SNES game. There's also a nice little issue where a punt that goes into the endzone results in a safety rather than a touchback.
So... overall it's not *bad* for an 800 point game, but we're better off just playing the hacked 32 team NES roms instead.
Is it just me or does it like you're not even controlling your player?
Worked much better the second time i loaded it. I downloaded and played as soon as I found out it was available. Anyhow what was happening is it seemed like my players were running on their own. Strange.

I haven't tried the 80 yard bomb. I did complete one about 50 yards. Young to Taylor.
Graphics thing should have been fixed. If we could edit names, the field should change as well
I punted and kicked a touchback 5 different times and saw no safety being awarded. Maybe something weird going on at first. Some said they couldn't control their guys when they first downloaded.
re: Tecmo Bowl Throwback Impressions (PS3 and 360)
I've never played Tecmo Bowl before. I tried the trial version and in the short time I was able to play I was getting my butt kicked 21-0. I liked the game and downloaded the full version, now I've got to learn how to play, the game is a blast though.
EDIT: I'm playing my first game with the full version. I'm Kansas City against Green Bay, I'm up 14-7 with a minute left in the half. Now that I'm getting used to the controls this game is a blast. This is proof right here that you don't need the NFL to have a great time playing a Football game. If the game play is fun then the game is good.

I don't know, my kickoffs into the endzone were all touchbacks. CPU punted to me and it gave them a safety.
On the graphics, I will say I find some of the fake logos amusing and wrong. A hawk/eagle for Dallas? A shark for New England? A cow skull for Seattle? I mean, Seattle's totally known for it's western themes, right? I know they were trying to not be the NFL, but come on.
