    Draft picks.

Have you guys drafted anyone that has become a stud. I had the last pick in the draft (pick 30) after winning the Cup in 7 games over the Devils. I drafted a 6-3, 230 defenseman, Clifford Hobson (rated 74 overall). I thought, we'll he might mix in.

This guy has become my most physical defenseman, he crushes people along the boards and almost always leads the team in hits each and every game.

Have you guys had any similar luck or disappointments?

    Re: Draft picks.

Trevor Pollock, Stephen LeClaire were all in their 88s. Both were centers moved to wing on my team. Pollock was fast and had a good wrister and LeClaire was pretty similar to Dany Heatley, had a good slapshot.

As for later finds, I signed an undrafted free agent, Morgan Baron, as of this writing he's an 86 ovr playmaker with a scoring touch. Contributed 88 points.

And a defensemen, Vesa Attila/Antilla, an offensive defenseman that took a bit to mature (couldn't hit for jack even in the AHL at first) but turned into a really top guy.

There are more but they're on the tip of my tongue.

I have founded goalies in the third round so many times. They are usually 75-78 and they improve like crazy. I drafted a goalie in the 5th round and now he 94 ovr. and he has won Vezina three times in a row.

I picked up a D, Teemu Ahonen - 77 overall as a rookie with A- potential for everything. He has a nice slapper and is on the PP with Jack Johnson on my LA be a GM. Looks promising, otherwise LeClaire is good. I still don't understand the CPU's obsession with Obsut, I wasn't that impressed when I played with him.

Yeah I picked up 2 goalies in the draft and they both came out in the 70s.

            Re: Draft picks.

Cam Fowler - Edited a bunch of the generic draft prospects for the first year and made them real players. I made Fowler a 77, B+ potential.

He shattered several records in his first AHL season while playing first D pairing, PP, PK duties and some games on the third line as a forward (They were all simulated games mind you, I haven't actually played with him since the EA prospects game).

In his first year pro his totals were something like 31 goals-109 assists-140 points in 80 games. He lead the Hershey Bears in every category from assists, +/- to shots and minutes (excluding goals, that's the only one).

He also lead the league in all those categories as well, the most interesting being assists (obviously) which is an AHL record, point totals (another record) and he has about 60 more takeaways than any player in the league, I think in total it was about 110+ takeways compared to Adam Larsson's 50-60.

I've just been in awe the whole season. I'm actually scared to call him up because I don't want to screw things up.

And I've never seen any player, in any AHL/NHL season, in any version of the game I ever played, dominate so badly.

EDIT: As of the last game of the AHL season, he has earned 18 individual attribute points over the course of the year. That's ****in nuts.

Ted Kelman...he was listed as a Franchise Player and I took him at #1. Ended up breaking Gretzky's points and goals records and became a 99 for quite awhile. So nasty.

How do you know these players broke records, is it just because you know what the record is, or does the game tell you if a player has broken a record?

Unfortunately no, the game does not recognize achievements and milestones. Madden does it so I don't think it would bee too hard fro them to implement some sort of system for NHL11/12 though.

Also, I picked up this dude Julian Tselios, in the second round. Usually I draft horribly, 29th and 30th overall and one year I traded my first round pick and got him and this enforced names Branson Lupul in the 4th round or something, haven't played him yet but he's a 78 overall with 92 checking, which is looking good.

I traded Scott Hannan for Minnesota's first round pick, which is going to turn out 3-5 overall so I'm looking forward to getting a nice sniper or playmaker.

You have to do it before you start your BAGM. Go into edit player and edit the players on the prospect team.
