Makes me mad because according to the CD guys and from what I recall the locomotion engine they put in last year was great and in some aspects like cuts were better than this years.

Dolphins score what appears to be a game winning TD (There's one second left in the fourth) and the team isn't going crazy. One guy puts his hands in the air and that's it.
Not good, but "maybe" because the vid cuts off, there's more that isn't shown.......Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Video: Developer Series - Gameflow. Gameplanning. Locomotion.
game flow sounds good on paper but like the guy who was doing the interview said if vince young goes down prior to playing a game and if the cpu ai does not change its play book,.... you know adapt to the injury then it will seem kind of silly seing the back up qb try to excute the same plays that vince would do.
the better solution is to have them adapt to injuries durring the course of a season. as for the other having a game played in 32 min versus 60 plus i guess that is our game save option anser. instead of giving us in game saves like we have been asking for they just shorten the experience.Comment

Did they say they planned on fixing it? or do they seem to like it the way it is?Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Video: Developer Series - Gameflow. Gameplanning. Locomotion.
but what i've seen in NCAA vids the running doesnt look that ridiculous. In this vid the guy never plants a foot or slows down at all, he just moves wherever the person wants and never slows down at all. In NCAA though the running looks better.Ive been trying to tell you guys that. This was in NBA Live
That's exactly why I said you would hate it. A soccer movement does not belong in basketball nor football.
Wait til you feel it though, especially on defense when you would otherwise be able to cut off a lane and the guy takes 10 seconds to do a cut.
There really is no footplanting in this sense. It was there in Live 09 and taken out and replaced by this. Enjoy it though, you will probably like some aspects of it, and some of it, case in point you wont.Comment

This... I can almost guarantee you that Madden will have better foot planting and locomotion then NCAA as well. Madden has more resources to work on the game and fine tune it.Comment

i agree. people pick so few plays cuz they kno how to glitch the cpu and call plays that always work. hopefully they improve the cpu AINFL- Bears
NBA- Bulls
MLB- Cubs
NHL- Blackhawks

Then why is NCAA always a better game? Game-play wise, and graphics...Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Video: Developer Series - Gameflow. Gameplanning. Locomotion.
Thanks for the explanation. Makes sense. We'll see how it's implemented.Heres how I see it speeding up the game.
Last year, I would play 15 minute quarters with a 25 second runoff. Now, the clock wouldn't run off until I selected a play. So, I still wasted 10+ seconds just selecting a play, then the clock would run down to 10 seconds left. So, I was still picking plays and taking a long time to get through games. But I still played on 15 minute quarters to get realistic stats. Accelerated clock helped me get those stats while speeding up the game too.
How I see GameFlow speeding up the game is, I will no longer select a play. So now when I run a play, I'll be back up at the line and the accelerated clock will run off. i won't have wasted 10+ seconds digging through my playbook. That 10 seconds will add up. Say on average it saves me 7 seconds a play. Now, I would run between 55-70 offensive plays a game. So that is about 6-8 minutes at the least saved. Now, it took me longer than 7 seconds to select a play on average, but thats showing you how it will still save time. If I did the real calculations of around 10-15 seconds selecting a play, then thats like 12-15 minutes saved.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Video: Developer Series - Gameflow. Gameplanning. Locomotion.
Either that's an old build w/o locomotion (doubtful) or its because JJ Arrington has a high agility rating which allows him to turn faster and make sharper turns than someone with a lower agility. The person controlling him made turns that weren't extreme and I think when he starts running towards the sideline he made a cut and branched out of that. The locomotion is a step in the right direction, but I think Madden needs a new physics engine to prevent players from doing this. Even if that is possible in the retail game he should of slipped or at least stumbled a little because making a plant like that and switching directions should be nearly impossible especially in the rain.Comment

Also look at 91 come all the way across the field to make the tackle?! that big dude can go that fast and make that play? Not to mention after he's blocked?Comment

screw the rain, he just handled like a motorcycle through the defense w/o slowing or planting. He shouldn't even be able to pull this off w/ velcro on his shoes on the sunniest of days.Either that's an old build w/o locomotion (doubtful) or its because JJ Arrington has a high agility rating which allows him to turn faster and make sharper turns than someone with a lower agility.
