Re: Backbreaker Producer Q&A (ESPN Videogames)

I love how the pictures show the receivers twisting to look backwards for the ball - no more only over the shoulder catches or bust.

Also could this be the first sports game ever without clipping? the way these screens look and how the engine works I think it could be.

I dont think people should be too unrealistic about a first iteration game but as a gamer it needs to succeed for many reasons to open the market...

absolutely right, its probably no clipping in this game, thats another thing

Re: Backbreaker Producer Q&A (ESPN Videogames)

I saw some clipping in footage before now, but my guess is they've worked on that. It wasn't bad or common, but it was present.

This game is exciting me more and more. I can't wait until June 1st!

That stadium looks amazing. Looks like it's built into the side of a mountain. BB is gonna be crazy.

This game seems to be gaining momentum in the past week and is changing peoples minds from going to a ' leaning against a purchase'
            to a 'must buy'.

Road to Backbreaker sounds like a better version of the Blitz league thing, where if you did well you advanced to the next tier.

Yeah, the only info I received is you start in a "lowly" 8 team league and if you finish in the Top Three you're promoted to a 16 team league. I don't the progression after that.

Great article. This game has so much promise. There is no doubt in my mind that this game is going to be fun to play. Tackle alley alone will be amazing but that's not even the mode that I am most looking forward to.

This just took me to a first day buy to a first day buy. haha, too bad I'll be in Florida when the game comes out, so I'll have to wait like an extra 3 days to play.

Yea, the stadium is nice. Also, the reason there are Euphoria banners is probably because thats the tech used in the game, and the company making the game is probably trying to market their engine in their own game some.

Correctomundo. 8, 16, and 32 team franchise mode, then in Road to Backbreaker you start off in the 8 team league. Finish in the top 3 and move up to the 16 team league, finish in the bottom 3, move back down, top 3 and you move up to the 32 team league. Bottom 3 you move down, top 3, 29 other spots you stay.

Also, there is no playoffs in this mode. Playoffs are in regular franchise mode though.

Copy that, I was actually making a statement, not really asking a question... I wonder if this is a one-time effort to showcase the technology for sale to another company..thats where im headed with this..

They had plenty of time to incorporate features such as injuries and fatigue...absent these features automatically makes this and "arcade" football game. IMO

I don't think so. I think they just wanted to make a foundation for the series and if it goes well with fans, we'll see injuries, fatigue, etc. in the next game. This is sort of a test run, just a very well done one that looks better than a lot of games and actually looks like one of the few next gen games.
