Re: NCAA Football 11 Blog: Real Assignment AI

I'm loving how the AI is running the football and making the correct blocks. Makes me have to play smarter and really try to shed blocks.

I hope against the CPU the AI recognizes that I'm bring more players up the line of scrimmage to stop the run and tries to go over the top.

The running game has been null from the CPU since this game went to the new gen.

Also, I love the speed of the game compared to 10. The option read is going to be something of beauty now. It'll be sweet to play as a DE playing an option team and have to make the right read.

          Fantastic!

No mention of the pitch phase of the triple.
Now, I assume this is because it was a little too difficult to intentionally leave the 2nd guy unblocked.
The slotbacks in one video are shown with an arc-path but this isn't necessarily an assignment, just a direction.

I'm happy anyway though. This is really really great and I'll buy the game for the first time in years.
Glad NCAA has made a real effort! It's much appreciated.

This is a great addition to the game that should really improve the running game.

But as a former offensive lineman I feel that I must mention that this would be even better if the lineman would block on the correct side of the defensive player. For example on the stretch play the linemen should get to the outside shoulder of the defensive lineman so the running back can get outside. Another example is on the other plays the backside tackle should wall off the defensive end instead of blocking head up or towards the play.

Looking good. I really hope this doesn't break the game though. Instead of Robo QB we'll have Robo RB who just cannot be stopped because the blocking is realistic but there are no Defensive animations to challenge the new blocking system.

Very nice. I'm even more excited with the new run blocking AI. But to echo others, I really hope the defense has gotten the same attention as the offense.

I'd imagine it has judging by the OS preview. Getting beat by 63-8 on Heisman by a weker team is impossible on any other NCAA game.

I like the idea of better A.I. blocking. I just hope it doesn't make the game TOO easy to run.

I like success, but I like balance too.

I can't believe all the great blogs this year. This game is just looking so sweet right now I can't believe it. My only hope is that I somehow find an early copy this year. I doubt it will happen since I've never scored an early copy before. We just don't have the mom and pop stores around here. Only the big guys and they won't break street date.
