No-No's & Perfect Games: Close, But No Cigars

I am by no means a pitching phenom in ANY baseball game.
It took until this year for me to even get a no-hitter in a baseball game [i did it with MLB 2k7/Clemens, tho that one had super easy pitching]
But today I cam [kinda] close.

    AJ Burnett on the hill.
    Vs the Angels.
One day after my implosion, where after 6 inning of one run 2 hit ball by CC, Chan Ho disentegrated and I lost 10-0, Burnett threw a gem

I actually made it one out in the 7th with a perfecto.
    Bobby Abreau was up.
    i said to my girlfriend.
    The perfect game ends here.
    It did.
Double down the line. Followed by a BS call for a hit up Arods torso, then a 'under the glove' special past Jeter to score a run.
Not only was the perfect game gone but so was the shutout and possibly the win.

No fear, i put up two on a CANO double and a Jorge single.
Won the game all told a five hitter.

But it was getting exciting and for me in the SHOW, even more so because i can never cool the CPU's bats.

    Damn.
    Kinda close, but no cigar.

I feel you....I took a no-no into the 8th with Romero of the Jays vs Texas, funny thing is that Feldman for the Rangers had one into the 7th, Wells drew a walk then Overbay broke it up with one out, wild pitch moved the runners over and then I squeezed with Travis Snider..I didn't think it would work but it did and I was up 1-0. Top of the 8th, Kinsler took me deep to tie it at 1 so after 8 innings the score was 1-1 with only 2 hits...I lost in 11 innings but great game!!!!

Matt jinxes me everytime. I had a no-no with Halladay going into the 8th, against the Braves. First Troy Glaus gets hit by a pitch that went hay-wire. Then, Matt Diaz hits a single that could've been caught, had Ryan Howard been in position, but since Glaus was on-base, this caused Howard to be guarding first, thus being out of position.

about a week ago I came as close as ever with the Knight CAP of Mike Leake. I changed his pitching motion (to Generic 13) right before the game. Going into the game he was 0-2 with a 7.50+ ERA. 7 1/3 against the Dodgers. Russell Martin hit a 69 hopper to second that BP dove for but couldnt get. Ended up winning with a 4 hitter.

Next start 6 2/3 1R 2 hits against the Astros.

Then today he got lit up against the Cards...ahh sweet reality.

I've never thrown a no-hitter on any platform, but came oh so close tonight! Granted it wouldn't have been the same level of achievement since it was Strasbourg (Knight's rosters) in a minor league start, but I went 9 perfect innings. Unfortunately, I had been held to no runs on 4 hits and the game went into extra innings. I went to the pen and promptly lost in the 10th. Bad times....

funny u say this, because every time ii get even remotely close to a no-no or perfecto, i never have any runs at the time.

Never made it past the 6th and if I could count on 1 hand the times a pitcher broke up a perfect game, I'd consider myself lucky. Always seems to be the worst hitter on the other team.....

I had a no hitter broken up in the 9th...8 1/3 of greatness with Justin Verlander (online).

Ended up giving up 2 runs in the inning, allowing ATL to tie it.

2nd pitch in the bottom of the 9th...Brandon Inge hit a walk-off.

I put The Show down after 08' because I got a 360. But I have thrown 1 perfect game and 1 no-hitter in my gaming career. In MVP Baseball 2005 I threw a perfect game with Curt Schilling, and in MLB The Show 08' I threw a No-No in RTTS with my SP in the Red Sox AA system.
