The one-time Online Pass registration code comes included with each unit sold new at retail. Once redeemed, additional Online Passes will be available for $10. Fans also may sign up for a free 7-day trial to experience Online Pass. International pricing will be announced within territories in the near future.

It is included if you buy new. If you buy used, you just have to hope you get it included, same with rentals. Mass Effect 2 was the first game to do this (also made by EA).

They are doing this since they don't get anything from used game sales so I don't see how anyone can get mad at them for this...
I mean I don't like it but again, I understand why they are doing this.

There's a 7-day trial.
It's basically the same thing they did with Online Franchise, except now, it's for Madden online as a whole. Although I don't like it, you have to admit that it is a good business strategy for companies to make more money from the people that buy used, or from a friend.-MattComment

if the games were well made, it would be hard to find used game version of it...
I remember reading about this one guy who refuses to buy new games because of money, but he couldn't find a used copy of MLB THE SHOW anywhere......and was "forced" to *gulp* buy it new.
does it mean that if you have a well playing game there will be no used games of yours to be bought....not guarantee really....
but it would be ALOT less.Comment
