Will we ever get user controlled celebrations back??

I really loved it on PS2 how we could do different button combos to cause different celebration types. Does anyone know if we'll ever get that back on next-gen?

I would like this as an option as well. It was awesome to get to pick whatever you wanted to do.

On another note, I wonder if the new celebration rules will have any effect on game-play in NCAA 11. I mean, can you image your star CB intercepting the ball, having a clear shot at the End Zone and getting his high step (which could mean taunting) on from the 25 and before scoring. Then he get's a "not so fast my friend" and the offense takes control at the 25.

I don't think anyone (maybe other than the Dev's) knows if we will. I hope so.

I used to have different celebrations I enacted based on what I perceived the personality of that player to be. Quiet, reverent RB from Kansas? Drop down to a knee. Flashy WR from NYC? The most over the top stuff you could imagine lol.

Man, I used to do a lot of roleplaying aspects into my NCAA Dynasties. Miss that stuff.

I enjoyed when I was Florida and playing FSU, and when I would score, my player would start doing the tomahawk chop, then he would do the same motion but across his neck.

I had a friend who was a spiderman fan and he'd always do the spiderman, it was funny and made him scoring on me not so terrible (for that moment anyways)!!

I think that's the cruelest thing about EA is that often they give us stuff, then take it away whereas if we'd never been given it in the first place we'd never missed them.

Kinda like watching HDTV, hard to go back to standard def...but if you've never seen HDTV then you're just fine with standard def.

This should've never gone away in the first place. Choosing your own celebration (not just running around or to a Mascot) should be a staple feature.

Yeah TheWatcher, in a way I think that whole "run to your mascot" thing is kind of EA's way of laughing at us. Like "you can't do your own celebration but you can go cavort with the mascot" and then when you're done I can just hear EA saying "now don't you feel like a da***ed fool?" heh..

I think the over the top celebrations will be gone due to the new rules but EA should at least figure out how to add a multiple player celebration. I hate scoring and the scorer just jumps up and down. Get a QB or WR in there to help celebrate! And the "run to the mascot" thing was absolutely ********!

what ea should do is add unsportsmen like conduct penalty then. That way if a player does celebrate over the top it can be penilized like in real life.

If you run into another player, they will celebrate with eachother.

I rememer that if you did an excessive taunt after a sack it would sometimes start a shoving match between players with certain teams. I think that discipline rating or whatever it was that determined how often your player got suspended also factored into it. Whenever my brother would do that taunt they'd call the penalty on me even though I was on offense and he started it lol.
