Minnesota Twins in MLB10 The Show
I am playing a season as the Twins. I was WAY ahead of everyone in MLB after 70 games, so I started a new season with a harder difficulty. I am still finding that this team is just so versatile and stacked from 1-6. Decent pitching. To you guys who don't play as the Twins, do you struggle when you play them or are they just like any other team? I am 3-1 now after my first series in Anaheim. Won the first game 11-0. My only loss was a 3-1 heartbreaker. Are the Twins that good in this game, or are they only this solid when they are controlled by a human player? You can't go wrong with Span, Mauer, Morneau, Cuddyer, Thome and Kubel if you ask me.

Re: Minnesota Twins in MLB10 The Show
I use the Twins and yes they are that good. It'll be interesting to see how they do against the Yankees (real life) this week. That's their first real big challenge.
But, even Delmon Young, Hardy, and Harris are hitting well this year. We're stacked for hitting. Notice I didn't mention Punto!
I still remember my first series of my franchise against the Angels though. I lost the first 2 and was leading both of those games. Crain blew the lead in one of them to no surprise. Matsui burned me in the other game. I deifnitely am not punching through teams with ease. They're hard fought wins, granted I'm not very deep into the season yet either. -

Have you called up Liriano yet? I have no idea why, but he starts off the season in the minors. I ditched Punto, Casilla and Mijares right away. I called up Pridie and Liriano. I also picked up Hudson from free agency. Morneau is an absolute terror in this game. One thing I dislike about the Twins (besides their lack of a starting pitcher with a power fastball) is how low Joe Mauer's energy level is. He seems to tire faster than any of them. Playing catcher has something to do with it for sure, it just sucks not having him in the lineup. Morales is terrible.Comment

One thing you really need to do with this pitching staff is pitch to each hitter's cold spots. If you don't know, press select when they come up and it'll show you in blue where they're cold and red where they're hot. It's especially important with the starters who are mostly all control pitchers and don't have a 97mph fastball to over-power guys with.Comment

Re: Minnesota Twins in MLB10 The Show
I hated playing the Twins in the Metrodome, they were just unbeatable there. Even when I had the lead.botched ground ball->seeing eye single->three run homer-> Joe Nathan->game over
but now in Target field when I got Buehrle and Danks going it's usually a walk in the park. But boy they are tough on righties.Comment

Re: Minnesota Twins in MLB10 The Show
I play manage only mode and in my first year Twins won the World Series over the Phillies in 6 games, so they are that good. I manage the Rangers so it wasnt just me. I went 71-91 first year.Comment

Re: Minnesota Twins in MLB10 The Show
The Twins are good IRL, not just in the game. Look at their record.
They have a very very good team, and its sad that they dont get the credit they deserve. This weekend I think they will give the Yankees a run for their money, and show what they're made of.Comment

First off they are good. I started with them but moved onto another team in my 30 team franchise. I got bored winning. They hit, they field, they pitch, they run. Great balance and I had no trouble drawing walks as they have solid vision and discipline.
They are ranked high in the game and they play in a week division so winning should not be an issue regardless of difficulty.
Love the new park! Classy all the way, just like the team.Comment

Re: Minnesota Twins in MLB10 The Show
My best hitter in my Twins franchise has been Cuddyer of all people. He has more than double the home runs of any other player with 13 and is 5th in the MLB.
I've been struggling lately though with my pitching.Comment

Re: Minnesota Twins in MLB10 The Show
I chose the Twins for my franchise as well....
Unfortunately, I suck.
I'm 7-10 so far and in a lot of really close games, but I seem to find ways to lose them. I've probably had 7 or 8 extra inning games already. I think my pitching is pretty good. My hitting is not too bad, except I seem to really struggle with RISP...I swing at everything...makes me so mad because I tell myself to be patient, and yet I still end up striking out on pitches in the dirt or at my eyeballs!
I'm hoping that I will get better and the strength of the Twins will allow me to be competitive in the long run...as it is now, I'm already 7 games back

Re: Minnesota Twins in MLB10 The Show
Anyone who is playing as the Twins should ditch Punto asap and pick up Hudson from free agency. I also picked up Russell Branyon from free agency for a spare bat on the bench. He plays with Cleveland in real life, but I don't sweat the details on a very minor player like that. Not like I picked up Heyward or anything lol.Comment
