Here are some of the highlites from the story
*The new surface is the latest generation of FieldTurf.
It will again alternate between light green and dark green every five yards
*A large yellow Oregon logo will be at midfield, and the end zones will have a script “OREGON” in yellow
. The new surface will also feature two logos for the Pac-10 Conference, which plans to unveil an updated version of its logo sometime this summer.
*One of the unique aspects of Autzen Stadium will be
no longer, as crews are currently removing the
prominent crown in the middle of the field as part of the project to replace the stadium’s artificial turf.
Considered by some an advantage for the home team, the
2 percent crown is being shaved before crews install a new FieldTurf surface
*Though it’s not part of this specific project, the department will also
update the appearance of the walls surrounding the field. Specific details for the new look have not been finalized.
