NEW AFL TO START WITH DRAFT

Grand Rapids, Mi - The Arena Football League is back but it's not the old one that used to run. The old AFL folded back in 2008 and with all the clubs taking time off it ment all the players went their seperate ways.

So starting tomorrow night the New AFL will hold it's first ever draft to fill all of the teams rosters. For Grand Rapids that means a new chance at returning to the old days of winning football and a shot at the AFL's top prize the Arena Bowl Trophy.

We have an idea of just who we are going to select in the first couple of rounds that should make us the talk of the league heading into week 1 of the season.

The Rampage open the schedule with a road game against the Colorado Crush in Denver Colorado with a 9 pm Kick-off.

RAMPAGE SELECT GREATEST WR IN AFL HISTORY WITH FIRST PICK!
Grand Rapids, Mi - Last Night the New Arena Football League held it's inaugural league draft for all the players that were in the old AFL plus some of the new rookie's that wanted to make the league as well.

The Rampage were given the 11 pick overall in the first round and they went with someone who is going to give them the most bag for their buck right away. The Rampage selected Offensive Specialist Damian Harrell who formerly with the Colorado Crush and holds almost every AFL record there was in the old league.

The Rampage then went with more experence in the AFL with their second pick at the Quarterback Position as they selected Raymond Philyaw.

These are two men that can lead the team not only to wins but also to our goal of reaching the Arena Bowl Play-Offs in the first year.

The rest of the roster will be released today after the final rounds of the draft are compelete.

            65 - 52

            RAMPAGE WIN SEASON OPENER!!

Denver, CO - The Grand Rapids Rampage won the season opener in Colorado 65-52 over the Crush at a sold out Pepsi Center in Denver Colorado last night.

Quarterback Raymond Philyaw was 20 of 28 in the game for 313 yards and 7 touchdowns earning him the Champs Sports Player of the Game award and Offensive Specialist Damian Harrell caught 11 passes for 171 yards and 4 of the 7 touchdown passes tossed by Philyaw to lead Grand Rapids to it's first win of the 2010 season.

Another reason for the win was a huge defensive play near the end of the game when Colorado QB Matt D'Orazio was hit and fumbled the ball and Silas Demary picked it up and scored from 3 yards out to give the Rampage the win in the game.

The Rampage stay on the road and head to Kansas City Missouri to face off with the Kansas City Brigade in Week 2 of the season.

Solid win over Colorado. Looks like Harrell had a big game!
P.S. You might want to switch the top performers around...as the players are under the wrong teams

Tried to put up standings of the OS dynasty tables and it kinda didn't work so Pujol's is working on looking at the script and seeing what happened.

                          Ok Gang,

You have to bare with me here. I am going back to my days of HTML and trying to use google chrome to do my posts on here. I was using I.E. and just going WYSIWYG way of posting but since it seems that they tables work better in chrome I am going to have to reteach myself the basics of HTML again. Should not take long to get done.

                            62 - 63

DEFENSE STOPS DESTROYERS ON LAST PLAY OF GAME!!

                            Grand Rapids, Mi
The Rampage needed the rarest of things in the Arena Football League in the final seconds of the teams inaugural season opener to win the game....Defense.

After trailing the entire game including trailing by as much as 21 points at one time the Rampage got down to the more simpler aspects of the game and everything started to click. While Damian Harrell (6 catches for 147 yards) was covered for most of the game it was the other receivers that stepped up to the challenge like Mike Hilton and Etu Molden who share in the touchdown comeback.

With the Rampage leading 63 - 56 and under 0:25 seconds left in the 4th quarter Columbus Destroyer quarterback Joe Hamilton found WR Antoine Burns open in the End Zone for 6 and brought them with in one point of tying the game. Columbus sent their kicking team on to try the extra point and made it but flags went flying as holding was called on Columbus and moved the ball back to the 15 yard line. Columbus decided then with just 0:15 seconds to go that they would try for the win and a two point conversion but it failed as a play that had worked all game long was stuffed early as they did a short pass to FB Lonnie Ford who was met at the line by a hord of Rampage tacklers securing the come from behind 63 - 62 win and improving to 3 - 0 on the season.

Grand Rapids now heads back out on the road again, this time to city of Brotherly Love to face off with the 2 - 1 Philadelphia Soul on Friday Night with a kick-off time of 7:00 pm
