Re: NCAA Football 11 Dynasty Blog: 1 of 3 - Phone Call

So your telling me that coaches don't know where a kid is leaning to ....? That's not true most prospects are leaning to a school and everybody knows it including the scouting services.

There are a handful of recruits each year that its a surprise as to what schools they like the best.

I don't mind the point system as long as it allows for some surprises.

I don't like that you know exactly where you are with recruits. Sometimes you do, but sometimes you never really know what a recruit is thinking until he signs. Other than taking the surprise commit away, looks good.

Do all those schools listed use a FB? Just curious cause I dont know for sure. It would suck for a school that doesnt use a FB to waste a scholarship on a 5* FB and never use him. You know, since the different offensive styles are in.

Would the AI have enough robot intuition to change his position to say a TB , TE or even LB?

This. I'm hoping finally that there are more diverse recruits such as COVERAGE MLB's, of which there are never any recruits in previous NCAA's

Also, i really like to know where i stand with recruits, but thats just me. I am hoping if its close like both school have 500 or something its kind of random.

I'm also wondering if there's still that slim instant +3000 immediate commit if a recruit has you number one to start.

Look at the #2 and #3 team on the list.

Im sure it could be the same for the top 2-3 schools, before a player signs.

The most important thing I think we've learned is that we will have access to a multitude of 5 star fullbacks. That's what I plan to stock my entire team with and I'm sure many others here plan to use the same strategy.

That's fine, but don't show them to the user, that takes away the variety and excitement and makes the game about a specific strategy and set of rules to get recruits rather than a game. IMO
Here's the thing that I don't understand about the complaints about the point system. From what I can tell by reading the blog, the point system is basically the same as it was last year. The interest bars on the top 10 list are the same as last year. The only difference is that now they show us the points (which were still there last year, we just couldn't see them).

I think the main difference is that we no longer seem to have the option to spam our Most and Very High pitches for 2-4 hours to ensure that we lock someone up.

I can't speak for everyone else here, but for me, I'm fine with the points system as long as there are surprises in recruiting to keep it more suspenseful. I know that coaches probably have a good idea of who they are going to get because most kids give a verbal commitment. However, there are no points involved with the process.

                        Would be shocked.

Would be a nice little surprise, though, if when thumbing through Dynasty options, there was a "hide inside data" option that would hide recruiting points, team ratings, player ratings, etc.

Lots of guys have clamored for hiding player ratings; I think hiding ALL of that stuff would add a level of realism currently lacking. For instance, it has always bugged me when an A+ OVR team started the season unranked while some B- OVR team was top 10. If ratings were hidden, that wouldn't be an issue. You'd merely judge teams (and players) based on their on-field performance; to scout a team, you'd have to look at statistics and how they've performed on their schedule so far, not just see "A+ defense," etc.

Sorry for the "wishlist" post, just saying.

While Im not thrilled with the point system. I think people need to realise that this is a video game. Not great but it doesnt kill recruiting. Like somebody mentioned as long as there is enough shake up to keep things interesting.

Which makes me wonder if cpu recruiting logic has been fixed.

Clap, clap for that blog. Glad to see they are adding nuance and more depth to the dynasty mode instead of dumbing it down. I can't wait to read the other two.

the only issue i have is that he's a 5 star fullback, you usually don't see that,
also i hope at the end of recruiting teams like Florida, USC, Alabama, and Texas have the top classes,
i don't wanna see those teams down in the late teens or 20's, not even in the teens really
Where 92 All-Americans happen; where 31 bowl victorys happen; where 21 SEC championships happen; where 12 National Championships happen; where Alabama happens, is where amazing happens.
