Re: * UPDATE: MLB '10 The Show Game Update #3 Details, Major Bug Found
OK so assuming this gets fixed within a week (max, I mean come on guys its not like we pay a boatload for 80% finished products -- though I do appreciate the outstanding customer support), can someone save me the trouble of thumbing through 35 pages and let me know if the franchise stops freezing for no reason in the second year? Also, is this third out run-scoring bug in RTTS or just franchise?
Thanks!Comment

Don't know the answer to your first question, but after following much of the thread I have seen many post that it is in RTTS as well. This may or may not answer your question, but I simmed through 3 different franchises to at least 2014 with the new patch and none of them froze. One had the default roster, one had the newest live roster, and one had the OS Full Minors roster.OK so assuming this gets fixed within a week (max, I mean come on guys its not like we pay a boatload for 80% finished products -- though I do appreciate the outstanding customer support), can someone save me the trouble of thumbing through 35 pages and let me know if the franchise stops freezing for no reason in the second year? Can't say how it would hold up if you were actually controlling the teams and making moves, but with the CPU handling everything it seemed to work fine.Comment

Downloaded the patch and noticed the bug straight away. Turned an inning-ending 6-4-3 DP and the runner on 3B scored. *sigh*
Also of import: When will the player grades for "Potential" be corrected? Star players like Hanley Ramirez, Jonathan Broxton, Jose Reyes, Chad Billingsley and Yadier Molina (just to name a few) still grade out as only "C" Potential in the latest live roster update. Even cover boy, Joe Mauer is victim. He grades out at a mere "B" Potential. Because of the dramatic effect "Potential" grades have on player progression/regression, this flaw has prevented me from starting any Franchise play. (Don't want to be stuck with improper player grades after I start a Franchise.) Please address this issue. Franchise is my fave mode.

Did you load the roster after you downloaded it? I'm pretty sure Jose "I can't hit to save my life right now" Reyes is a B, and Mauer is an A.Downloaded the patch and noticed the bug straight away. Turned an inning-ending 6-4-3 DP and the runner on 3B scored. *sigh*

I know that most of you won't do this but I downloaded Patch 3 and played a few games of a new franchise with the Reds because I wanted to see if this were true or not and the bug doesn't seem to exist if you start a new franchise. I played 3 games last night and never once did a runner score after getting the 3rd out from 3rd base. Small sample but in the 3 games I had a runner on 3 on about 5 different occasions and it never counted after making the 3rd out. Like I said I know most people won't start a new Franchise. The only reason I did was I had one started with the M's and wanted to start one with my team the Reds.Comment

I was planning on starting a new RTTS anyway so I can get the new potential fix for pitchers in the minors from the get-go and also Jayson Heyward (started my current RTTS ages ago.)
I guess I'll start one today and see what happens.Comment

Re: * UPDATE: MLB '10 The Show Game Update #3 Details, Major Bug Found
Russell's update to the original post says the runner has to cross home plate before the third out is made. That's not going to happen on most routine ground balls. It could happen on deep fly balls or high pop ups. Is it possible the situations that you didn't see the bug were times when the runner didn't cross home before the out?I know that most of you won't do this but I downloaded Patch 3 and played a few games of a new franchise with the Reds because I wanted to see if this were true or not and the bug doesn't seem to exist if you start a new franchise. oooohhhh yeah. I've always used the workaround so I forgot to consider it a bug. Yeah basically advance a day and save manually after any injury.I think he might be referring to franchise/season auto-saves being broken if there's a pop-up notification right after you exit the game you just played. Your players (including pitchers, which is what makes this really bad) will have the fatigue from the game you just played, and the stats, but the game will not show as having been played.
The way around this, and it's something I got into the habit of doing with 09 (it's not a new bug), is to advance to the next day after you get done playing a game, then manually save. Everything is peachy if you do that.
I do it after every game, not just the ones that are followed by a notification box. Just safer that way.
No problems here didn't DL patch. However like stated by someone else I don't automatically sign in to the PSN so maybe that's the issue?
LOL nice. But easier said then done in my season.

Re: * UPDATE: MLB '10 The Show Game Update #3 Details, Major Bug Found
You know what I'm not sure. I really didn't pay that much attention to it. I really can't remember now. I know the runs didn't count. I didn't even pay attention as to who was on third whether it be someone fast like Stubbs or Phillips. I mean if Hernandez or Rolen were running in from 3rd they might not even score on a long fly ball as slow as they are. I know that I paid close attention to it in Games 1 and 3 of my series against the Cards as they were close games. I blew them out in the 2nd game of the series with a shutout so the second game I didn't pay that much attention. The other thing too was the series was in Cincinnati and most of the runs that were scored were on HR's so there were only 5 or so situations that I paid attention to and I didn't pay attention to whether it was a FB or a GB out being made. I'll check tonight when I play again as this bug is a bad bug but if you keep runners from getting to third it's not a big deal. Sorry high school baseball coach I do everything I can to keep runners off base. :wink:Russell's update to the original post says the runner has to cross home plate before the third out is made. Interesting. I just got the game (and a PS3 for that matter) yesterday and downloaded the patches, so I'll have to check it out.I know that most of you won't do this but I downloaded Patch 3 and played a few games of a new franchise with the Reds because I wanted to see if this were true or not and the bug doesn't seem to exist if you start a new franchise.
