Re: Backbreaker Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here
I only played one game. The passing game is difficult, but I'll get used to it. I found myself running in circles a couple of times due to the camera angle. I'm going to play the hell out of this after school and during the weekend to determine whether or not it's a first day buy.Comment

Need to get used to the camera. Hard to read blocks with this view. I also found myself getting tripped up by my own blockers. You can't just hug their ***. Running and juking animations look a little funky. Only touchdown I scored in exhibition was from a FB dive where I put my head into my guard's back and drove forward bowling him and the lineman he was blocking into the endzone. The tackling physics definitely make this game. Very pretty to look at. Aside from that, the gameplay feels pretty bland. Not bad for a first try though. I'll probably pick it up.Comment

This game actually makes you want to watch every single replay - even the busted plays.
Just watching every player battle and interact is amazing.Comment

Re: Backbreaker Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here
I know the camera angle maybe a problem for most players especially playing from a birds view most of our gaming lives but I think with practice which is the key....practice it can be exciting and definitely immersive. We have to train ourselves to forget how the Madden and 2k views were and start fresh. I think the key is just like in real football choose your position read your playbook know your positions responsibility trust your teammate (hopefully ai is somewhat on point) to take of business because if you try to switch from position to position like we use to we are in trouble. It's stupid to spend $65 to cheat...play with honor but have fun..Comment

Re: Backbreaker Demo Impressions Thread
Pros:
*The animations are phenominal.
*Lots of features for a demo. (Training, tutorial, tackle alley, exhibition.)
*The graphics including the crowd are top notch.
Cons:
*I hated the camera angle immediately. After 3 hours of non-stop BB I still can't stand it. It's way too sensitive to jukes and other movements. I wish they had a slider that controlled how jerky the camera shifts are. I know 505 wants to differentiate BB from Madden, but the fact that there is no other camera angles will turn off TONS of gamers.
*The music is extremely repetitive.
*Instant replay options are very limited. You cannot pause or adjust the camera angle or player perspective of the replay. The replay is literally a replay of what you saw during the play. As far as I know this is the only sports game that is missing these replay features.
*The lack of an announcer is very noticeable. There are frequent moments between plays where there is no music and the crowd, players, and PA man are 100% silent. These awkward silences seem odd.Last edited by boritter; 05-21-2010, 07:47 AM.EA: Please add in-game saves.Comment

Thanks for a good run-down. The admins over on official forums said the demo only contains a 'lite' version of the replay feature. So perhaps the full game will include more...Pros:

I think that its a demo...alot of things might be missing from various stadium music (instead of just 2)....Pros:

demo was only 400mbs....so like the NBA 2K game with about the same mbs...it also is missing stuff in presentation......I'm buying the game for sure...so I'll let yall know if it is the same as the demo...
as far as Replay options..... I agree.....what I do is just watch the broadcast style replay first....then i watch the regular replay.....
its funny though, I agree with the other poster....I keep wanting to see every replay for each play...haha...Comment

Re: Backbreaker Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here
First and foremost, it's a fresh football video game experience! We're not entirely beholden to the whims of one company, and that's cause for hope. "Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things..."
Camera options would've be a plus, but the visceral camera view that's available is fun. I'm looking forward to playing the demo again.Comment
