My advice to the Makers of BackBreaker

First let me say WOW the demo really pleased me.

Now my advice if it is all possible is patch in a regular camera angle as an option.

This will be the only reason why some will not buy the game, but if you guys patch it in your going to sell a ton of copies.

I will not state my impressions of the game , but man I was having a ton of fun playing, and it came to my mind that the camera will turn many away, and its a shame, but if they patch in a standard camera the game will cater to everyone.

Again great job and good luck!!!!!

Just a suggestion, but how bout giving it more than half a day before saying what the camera is or isn't.

A week from now opinions may be very different.

No I dont agree because I havent played nor plan on it. I dont play football games. I am interested in the technology and seeing how competition will play out.

Although if things like a camera or whatever is something people might want, im sure you have a better chance of them seeing it or doing anything about it with a petition on their forum. As far as I know BB devs arent on OS.

It's not about the time invested into the game. Im looking OUTSIDE of the BOX.

I will be fine with the camera , trust me. It makes things a lot more realistic something I love, but Im in the minority here, and I know for a fact that many will not give this game a shot because of the camera.

This is not about me. I LOVE THE DEMO, but for the overall consumer base.

It is the only big negative that is being mentioned both here and in the BB forums.

Again Im thinking outside of the box, and I want for them to SUCCEED!!!!!!

I have a theory that technically they cannot user a standard overhead camera without sacrificing playability and FPS. Between the physics and graphics, I'm sure this game is really taxing the system as it is, if they also had to render all 22 players with a standard camera the game would slow to a crawl. The thing about their current camera is that on a given play only a portion of the players have to be rendered which really helps performance. This is a theory I could be completely wrong.

no I don't think that is the case...you could just play safety and drop back deep into coverage watch the action...and it doesn't affect framerate...

I think it more has to do with Gameplay....meaning balancing issues....they wanted a camera that was on the field...and that is what they rolled with...spent alot of time trying to get it right.......now if they allow different players the ablity to change view, mainly to a God one....well then those players would have an advantage.....that is why I believe they didn't change their minds half way through the development of the game and try to tack it on.....or will even try to patch it....

for those who have a problem with the Camera view...imo, give it more time...it is about month in a half until other football games release....just have fun with it, and take it for what it is....a different type of football game......if yall want a football game that uses this physics engine but has more like traditional views....again, imo....other developers (2K, Tiburon, etc) would look into it if the demand is there....but it helps to show that it is...by supporting the game and not letting a camera view stop you from purchasing a game....that will hopefully be beneficial to all football gamers in the future, because of competition.

I haven't played the demo yet, but I think the camera angle is more sim like. If you have played football then you know this camera angle is life like because you can't see the whole field. Football players make mistakes because of this and it's more exciting. There are blind side hits, like on the QB. If you can see straight overhead, then you can avoid all blind side hits.

While I can say I know what you mean to some extent, this game gives you the same amount of control as if you were on the football field with 10 other teammates that you have to depend on to do their job.Sure you can change control but that's maybe the problem. If you play as the designated player that you choose at the start of the play at least you can say that's real football simulation.

i like the camera but i think it could be implemented much better. When running the ball towards the left sideline for example the camera should shift to the right as if your player was looking back towards the field so you could see more. Also changing recievers by flicking the stick is incredibly uncomfortable, and is why i am having trouble passing. Sometimes it just doesnt switch, and i always get sacked trying to pick the right reciever. I love the close camera but i feel like it needs to be better optimised to show what you need to be looking at to be successful.

...make a third person shooter instead of a football game.

I think the camera is what makes BB so special. Football is more than "real looking tackles" it's patience, it's vision, it's poise, it's a ****-ton of things that get eliminated when you are playing with an "eye-in-the-sky" camera.

I think most people won't like it because they have been ingrained with something else. BB should stick to their guns, maintain their values, and BB's authentic football feel.
