Re: Backbreaker Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here
FINALLY got to play the demo after a looooong day at work reading you lucky sob's impressions and I can't express how amazed I am. My gf was even asking why I have a goofy grin on my face while playing this game. I told her cuz it just seems like what should happen in any given situation IS happening.
Granted, there are faults. It wouldn't be a video game without them. I got a roughing the passer call on a play where there shouldn't have been (unless they DO have rules against driving the QB into the ground in BB), the A.I. kicker misses too much (only played on Medium difficulty though so the jury is still out) was gonna mention the lack of ability to change your primary receiver till I read through the threadand also the pass defence at times is a little...off. But something like that didn't keep me from playing 2K5, where the pass D was BRUTAL at times.
I can't get over the physics. Even my gf was amazed on some of the plays. I would show her replays and she would just say "wow, that was cool" or "ooooo, that looked like it hurt" (I didn't wanna ruin it for her and tell her there's no injuries  lol). Just spectacular, really. Getting used to the camera, but mostly loving it.
As of now, I suck at QB. I mean, just plain awful. If I ever play any of you online, just play Run D, cuz I can't pass lol. My running game is actually decent. Biggest thing for me is patience. Seems frantic to me at times, but like someone else mentioned in the thread, things are slowing down for me over time as I get into "game shape" lol.
Where I am absolutely killer is defence, more specifically, MLB. I don't know what it is, everything just seems to slow right down for me and I'm usually where I need to be to make a play if I need to. I've made some outstanding reads on running plays and have destroyed receivers and tight ends coming over the middle when I'm in a zone. This may change a bit when I bump it up to Hard, but I don't think it'll change much. I'm just having a blast playing D.
Like many guys here, I've had some incredible moments in games but one play really stands out to me, and it wasn't spectacular by any means, it was just "right". I'm playing MLB, sitting in a zone. QB drops back to pass. Nobody open, he decides to scramble for the first down (it was 3rd and 6). Aside from me, there's no one to take him down. The QB runs a little bit to his left through a gaping hole. In front of me is the RG a few yards away. I make a run for the QB and the angle that I have on the RG only allows him to try to push me away. He does better than that. He uses my momentum to push me DOWN, but he also pushes me towards the scrambling QB. The QB tries to hurdle over me, but as my MLB is falling, he turns slightly and uses his left arm to pull the QB down, 2 yards short of the first down. God I wished I had something to capture that moment cuz it was truly special. My jaw dropped at how everything happened that should have happened.
June 1st can't come soon enough. "You've changed things" is right.Comment

Re: Backbreaker Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here
I haven't played it yet since I have PS3, but from what I'm noticing, this game either needs heavy patching or we're going to have to live with the issues. From the videos I've seen, running just doesn't cut it. And with the talk of so many interceptions, you'd think that maybe sliders could take care of some of these issues, though I know people don't like them.
Nevertheless, I am 1000% stoked for this game! I just wish the X's and O's were ironed out beforehand though.Comment

Re: Backbreaker Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here
I know the makers of BB are trying to seperate themselves from the competition, but IMO it is a HUGE mistake to not have the traditional camera angle as an available option.
I get the fact it's designed to be played with this camera, but my goodness i would like to have the choice. I'm sure some of u love the camera, i for one can't stand it. As i'm playing this gorgeous, beautifully animated game, i can't help but think how much better this game would be with the traditional camera. Just my opinion.Comment

At first i was intimidated by the controls because it wasnt the standard controls we have been used to. Once you get used to the controls is when this game really becomes fun!!__________________________________________

Anybody else forgot about aftertouch on passes? It wasn't a tutorial, not sure why that is. At this point I still don't know how it works. It seems like I am leading my receivers on most passes anyways, so maybe I am doing it automatically or the game is.My Teams

I've played 3 games on hard and two on medium and there have been 7 misses of XP's and FG's in those 5 games with the A.I.
It won't go down if you move it to the hard level, at least for me.Comment

Re: Backbreaker Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here
CPU is making me pay, every time I do something cocky.....they gave a different look pre-snap and shifted around...now my slot receiver was not covered.... I tried to look to the right side and then quickly throw it to the left slot receiver....LB was right there INT, haha... I felt stupid.
I'm playing on hard, but damn is it fun...Comment

Haven't seen the CPU miss an extra point and the field goals they have missed have all been long kicks that you would expect to be missed often. My Teams

I just wanted to comment on this. You aren't the Lone Ranger with the A.I. missing FG's.

Re: Backbreaker Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here
6 games sunny, 1 game night time.
I'm going to try Hat's suggestion and try a different team. 6 games have been with the original visiting team and the last game played against Indianapolis. Now that I think about it, Indy is suppose to be a good team.
Just reporting what I'm seeing, I'm not the only one.
The FG's missed were a chip shot XP and one from 30 yds away.Comment

Re: Backbreaker Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here
controls are hectic at 1st but once you get a feel for whats going on playing D is fun, still have to get used to passing but i like the running game
good solid game
not sure if this should be posted here but i think $50 is a bit too much
they would make serious money and a huge fanbase if this was $20 or $30Comment

Re: Backbreaker Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here
Anyone know what "Form" means in pre-game options? It states "average" and you can't change it in the demo.
Also, regarding the interception issue, there are 3 modes - arcade, pro and ? The last one is not available in the demo, only the first two. In addition there are 3 difficulties - easy, medium and hard with all of them available in the demo.
Hopefully that additional unknown mode along with hard difficulty will cut down on the int's. And hopefully they were able to improve the QB AI between the demo build and final.Comment
