Remember that if you customize a league that you can obviously make the teams much better than some of the crappy demo teams. The Indy team could be an average offensive team for example.

Re: Backbreaker Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here
I think the INT's being a little high is also because of what CreatineKasey pointed out earlier in thread. Defensive players seem like they try to pick the ball off almost every time instead of knocking it down. Hopefully that can be tweaked somehow or was tweaked for the final version. My Teams

Re: Backbreaker Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here
Still I think BB needs to cater more to madden gamers if they want to steal us. We are dying to switch, just give us reasons too.
Like-
-More camera options-Im sorry I never liked close up even in madden
-Pre snap adjustments-We want control
-Full controller configuration-What makes madden so great is the button layout
-Jump/swat/strafe/catch button for offense and defense.-the beauty of madden is doing any move you want at anytime.
This alone would make the transition much easier and a more well rounded game for everyone. I want this game to succeed I dont think these adjustments would kill the feel and look BB is going for.Comment

Re: Backbreaker Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here
It seems like guys are only programmed to either hit the guy catching the ball or go for an INT, never knock it down. Catching is pretty high, but I've seen defenders and offensive WR's drop passes so it's not automatic. Still... we should be seeing some swats IMO.I think the INT's being a little high is also because of what CreatineKasey pointed out earlier in thread. Honestly, if someone sees a genuine swat from a DB instead of going for an INT please let us know!Xbox Live Gamertag: CreatineKasey

They have made it pretty clear on numerous occasions that they aren't trying to cater to Madden players. They want this to a completely new and different experience for gamers. The camera and control scheme are the clear two areas they are looking to do that.Still I think BB needs to cater more to madden gamers if they want to steal us. There is actually a alternate controller configuration that is closer to what you would see in Madden as well at least for passing.
I just don't understand people dismissing the control scheme and camera before they even have a chance to get used them. Reminds me of how I used to be food, unwilling to try anything new. When started to try some new things, I actually liked them.Last edited by mgoblue678; 05-21-2010, 05:59 PM.My Teams

I actually went to buttons and have since changed back to the stick. I'll probably do that more until I settle, but I'm guessing I'll end up going stick. They have made it pretty clear on numerous occasions that they aren't trying to cater to Madden players. After another game and some tackle alley, I can't help thinking that the camera might be a detriment to this game.Rose City 'Til I Die

Re: Backbreaker Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here
Thanks 360 users for all of this info and videos! I've been following this game since it was announced a couple years ago. I can't wait for the ps3 release on Tuesday, but hopefully I can play it tonight at a friend's house. I really do hope the physics change the way of sports games (taking I believe nhl 11 is doing real time physics?). Hopefully this game doesn't make me spoiled for it's physics engine, so when I want to play ncaa this year with all of it's great upgrades, hopefully I won't be too let down.Comment

Re: Backbreaker Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here
One problem that immediately stood out to me is the camera for passing is too restrictive. They should have zoomed it out a lot and after the catch or when the QB starts running zoom it back in. Same with defense.S E A N N y TComment

they have button configs for all aspects of the game not just passing.
you have to go into controller options, and hit the x. if you want to change to the ball carrier options just flip the stick to the right/left and the category will change.Comment

as cool as that is, what amazes me is what would look cool like that in other games AS A REPLAY, looks just like THAT in game.

Re: Backbreaker Demo Available, Post Your Impressions Here
Overall I am pretty impressed and will be picking this up eventually, I've only played 2 games so far and the practice drills.
PROS:
-Blocking and tackling seem as awesome as promised
-I really like how they handled the QB looking at different receivers
-Graphics / Art Style look really good, and even better in motion
-Seems like it plays a solid game of football in all phases (offense, defense, special teams)
CONS:
-Not really a fan of the tank-like controls for running, wish players controlled more freely
-Instant replays in the demo are terrible, hopefully the retail game has more options
-Presentation is as crappy as Madden
-Same music on the kickoff will get old pretty quick
-Runningback jukes look pretty stupid
-CPU pass defense logic isn't too good
I may have come off as a bit critical, but despite the CONS I listed, I like how the game plays and am looking forward to digging into it deeper once I clear out my backlog of other great games. One thing is for sure though, this beats the **** of of All-Pro Football by a country mile.
