and why is run blocking so terrible

Granted every run play shouldn't go for 10+ yards but goodness

It is sad and disheartening to me that the Backbreaker team didn't think far enough ahead to at least include other camera options, if they want these ones to be the default camera, then fine, but at least let me change the camera if I want to.
The camera is a huge part of any video game and has made/broken games like Tomb Raider and Drakes Uncharted; if the camera isn't playable to the user, then not much else really matters at that point.

If you are good with the camera then that's fine and there is nothing wrong with that, but again, for others it is getting in the way of gameplay and that kinda sucks.
Then its not what we call simulation, because players in real life do not have eyes in the sky.

I'm with those that are saddened to see all the complaints against the camera. The game was built around the camera. Change the camera and the game is nothing but another football game with a decent tackling engine. The beauty of the engine will be lost, as will the beauty of the game.

the other thing about the camera is on Defense you can take control of it with the right stick so using it in tandem with the left you can move your guy and control the camera (left and right) to see what you want and then up to tackle.

My biggest gripe so far is finding secondary receivers. It either takes too long or I am not dexterous enough to handle the controls. I am going to take Swaldo's advice and try the alternate controls, since he had the same problem as I did.

Every time I try to scan it has been a pick, there isn't enough time to even make it to the 3rd receiver by the time you're eating turf.

I don't disagree about it being a little cumbersome to switch receivers, but in real life a qb wouldn't be able to make it to their 3rd /4th receiver or stand in the pocket forever without eating turf that often either.

I do wish there was way to make it easier to see when my receivers are open deep, so far that is what I am having trouble with so far.

I hear ya. It's not an easy transition. Once you get the hang of it though it's pretty cool. Makes you have more of an understanding why and how QB's make mistakes. Also makes you respect great QB's even more IMO.

I guess the camera isnt for everyone. I honestly think the camera works so well in Madden because you have to have a god view to try to get out of all the exploits and nano blitzes the CPU throws at you.

That's my big problem with the running game. I also don't like how the button for focus mode changes whether you're on offense or defense. Switching controls based on whether you had the ball or not never made sense to me in any other game though so maybe it's just me.

The CPU's offense is just dumb and the usually the Human player has to dummy down his defense in order to get results.

Hopefully, we tweak the game play to step up the CPU's offense
I've never seen an offense this stupid. I have honestly only given up one positive play, every other time the quarterback is sacked while jump passing or the running back is destroyed behind the line of scrimmage. It happens no matter what play I call.

If you watch Dev Diary 3 on XBL the devs explain the camera was a conscious decision they made early on, and they explain why. I don't think it's an issue of them being short-sighted, or trying to be cute. They had a vision of what they wanted the game to be and had the skill to implement it. You have a right to your view, but it could be argued it's similar to someone saying a game like Call of Duty or Halo needs a third person camera because they don't like first person shooters.
