Huh? What kind of stats caused this?

NFL reports Manning as 6'5", Joseph Addai as 5'11" and Jeff Saturday is 6'2".
Maybe Peyton is standing in a hole or Addai is on a Gatorade Jug?

Almost forgot, that giant in the background is Pollack... 6'3".

LOL Manning was on steroids and got off of them and got small again. But yea that does look somewhat odd that manning is smaller then his running back is. But nothing is perfect.

Yeah I know its nit -picky but how does it pertain to all players? I could see a couple here and there but Pollack is like 6" taller than Manning, Addia is as tall as Manning, Saturday is shorter than Addai. How can they have that many screwed up on one team?

Also I guess my main issue is that if you are gonna screw up something visible like Height, how many more stats are jacked up?

Game looks great but its like staring at a Picasso painting of a turd, its still a turd.

The lack of a flak-jacket doesn't help the cause. God dammit Tiburon.

I could be way off base but I would imagine it is because it is a generic cutscene that we will see for all teams.

I don't know enough about programming but I would imagine it would be tough to create cut scenes specific to every situation and team and easier to create a general cutscene that just gets the uniforms and faces imposed into them for each situation.

Then again I don't even know if what I said makes sense.

Yeah I think that is exactly it, it is just a generic cutscene and it doesn't take into effect how tall or short a player is. I would of never noticed it if I was playing a game and this cutscene came up.

So you're saying that the cutscene would have Manning and Addais skins wrapped around some generic figures and it were say Joe Flaco at 6'6" and Darren Sproles at 5'6", it would look the same?

Why would you do this instead of modeling players X Y and Z from the rosters loaded for in game?

Yea thats what I'm saying because obviously that is how it is in the game...?

I didn't say it was right, just giving reasoning behind why it is like that.

The thing with this, what if player "Y" goes down due to injuries? To model "every" character from each team rosters for cutscene use seems a little much to me. That & these cutscenes need to be used for future seasons using the other how many much players they have in draft classes.

If you never mentioned I probably wouldn't notice that to much while the game is playing.. Then again if it was my team I'd probably pay attention more lol.

Your response seems kinda defensive. Well actually not kinda but obviously defensive.
I wasn't trying to irritate you, just asking for clarity.
Didn't realize it was 'obvious' in the game or I wouldn't have asked.

Well now this confuses me even more. How is it that I can run a replay and the players
aren't all the same size? Don't they model players based on stats? I mean if the Colts run a run play and I watch the replay, will they both be roughly the same size? Maybe its that the sideline shots are rendered in higher detail?

As I mentioned earlier, I am no expert when it comes to this and everything I am saying is all just a theory.

But cutscenes are different from replays of the game. The cutscenes are the same every time. With that shot you showed, if it were the Broncos we would see Orton, Moreno and whoever will end up as the starting C behind them and they will all be the same height since it is just recreating the exact same cutscene with different uniforms and faces.

The replays are different from the cutscenes we see.

THIS!! Hell, I'm the biggest Madden skeptic on here, but you gotta' have some reasonable expectations, too.

It would be crazy to think they will do EVERY cut scene seperate for EVERY team in order to get players weight/height correct.

These are bare models with team specific skins pasted on based on who is playing....same scenes for every game and situation, just different skins.

So, while not perfect, even I can understand WHY they do it this way, and am just glad they're doing something to make to game better.

It does look like Manning is tiny in that pic. A lot of folks don't realize that most NFL QBs are really big boys, they just look small next to the giant OL.
