EA Sports MMA Hands-On Impressions (IGN)
IGN has posted their hands-on impressions of EA Sports MMA.
"Now, on to what makes mixed martial so damn tough to replicate on a gamepad: the ground game and the clinch. EA Sports took nearly the totally opposite approach of THQ when it comes to maneuvering your fighter on the ground and in the clinch. What I mean by that is the transitions are simple. To get in the clinch, tap Y (triangle on PS3). To maneuver and advance your position in the clinch, tap Y again. Depending on your fighter's style, you could see things like Muay Thai clinches while other fighters' most dominant position might just be double underhooks. Regardless, to advance your position in the clinch, just tap Y. If you want to take your opponent down to the ground, whether in the clinch or standing, tap A and your fighter will either shoot or go for a slam. From there, much like in the clinch, to advance your position, simply tap A. This will take you from guard, to half-guard to mount if your opponent isn't successful in blocking your attempt."Tags: None -
Re: EA Sports MMA Hands-On Impressions (IGN)
EA Sports is well on its way to providing some great competition to the more hardcore-focused UFC Undisputed series from THQ.
I wonder how takedowns and clinches work when using the buttons for striking.
Having different methods for each sub sounds nice. Sounds like they've got proper struggles as well. -

Thought the same thing. When previews just aim to trash competition, they lose alot of integrity.
But, since UFC is the ONLY real comparison, I guess its inevitable.
But its EA...So we will not really know if any of it pans out til after its released.Comment
