I'm sure elite stands for whatever real time physics engine they are going to use...Comment

Re: NBA Elite?
And just like Fight Night 4, they better put out a patch to allow the flexibility to shoot with the buttons. If not, NBA live 10 will be my last game. Kudos to Stevenson and Wang for leaving EA. Shooting with an analog? Wow. Ridiculous.Whatever you do, don't give constructive criticism or say anything negative about Madden video games! It seems to be the equivalent of a felony...Comment

Re: NBA Elite?
Looking at the magazine scan and reading the article, it does look kinda interesting. As long as they stay with a sim focus it could be a success.
Speaking of sim focus, when did Dave Littman start working on an NBA game? For those that don't know, he's one of the guys that works on NHL as well and that game always has a sim focus so maybe this game might not actually be that bad.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Re: NBA Elite?
The NBA Live Title alone probably killed the series for sales the past few years.....
Having a new name might actually give a boost up in sales again for them if people think the game is taking on an entirely new identity
Kinda like tricking the consumer into thinking it's gonna be a ELITE basketball game because of the new name...............Last edited by Playmakers; 05-26-2010, 11:02 PM.NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD

Re: NBA Elite?
My only concern is when EA rebooted or re-focused their MLB (Triple Play to MVP) and NHL (NHL last-gen to current-gen) series they took a year off to really make an impact. Can a one-year development cycle be enough time to really make this game elite? They're trying to completely re-do their control scheme, though it seems to be a variation on the NBA 2K scheme, and implement real-time physics for the first time. It'll be interesting to see if it all can come together in time.San Antonio Spurs 5 - Time ('99, '03, '05, '07, '14) NBA Champions

Re: NBA Elite?
You say the last part like its never been done before. I use the R stick to shoot in 2K all the time and it feels completely natural and much better than a button. But that's my opinion and I realize other people don't feel the same so I agree they should have the option of buttons.

I'm all for real-time physics, though. We just have to wait and see.Whatever you do, don't give constructive criticism or say anything negative about Madden video games! It seems to be the equivalent of a felony...Comment
