I gave it a 4, the engine is nothing short of spectacular, but as a football game it has a long way to go, from AI problems (both mechanically and in general with things like clock management) to bugs (getting tackled at the 1 giving you a touchback) to missing features expected in any sports title (injuries, fatigue) and incomplete modes (no free agency, contracts in season mode, unable to fully edit players despite having so much other customization) and other seemingly shortsighted decisions like the quarter length options. All that is ignoring the polarizing camera decision (which I think is perfect on defense unless you're a DT, but could use some tweaking on offense)

I think it is too early to rate the game...be it good or bad... I think we should wait a week...or a couple of days.

While I would generally agree, nothing of what I judged it on will be changed in a few days.

I gave it a 3 because NM had the guts to try something new. I also feel as a Football game it's just terrible. I've been playing the game since 10:15am today and I've seen more bugs then I can remember one game ever having. I also stand by my statement that the camera angle completely ruins the game. Football is not played with one eye closed and that is what it feels like playing BB.

I want to be able to praise the game, but what I'm seeing when I play it just does not allow it.

Don't take this as a flame, but I would guess that you are still in your teens. Not because you think its the best football game ever made, but to give it a perfect 10 is a euphoric(pun intended) rating that I would expect from a young person.

No sports game is ever worthy of a "10" if we're calling a 10, perfection. Every sports game, even the ones that I deify, has a dozen things that weren't done well.

Are you saying that there is nothing in Backbreaker that you consider sub par? That's hard to believe.

LMAO. Ok.

I give it a 7. Tons and tons of potential, does lots of little things right. Missing many features that have been in football games for a while. Limited options. Sometimes wonky AI, particularly by the CPU on offense and with clock management. Limited playbook. Limited replay system.

Fun game. Not perfect but a very good first effort. Lacking features and sometimes frustrating.

4 people gave it a ten? I am pretty sure I know who. Even the most ardent supporter of this game, I would think would have trouble giving it a 10. Too many issues and missing features.

Imo, The Show is the greatest sports game ever, but even I wouldn't give it a 10.

Game is good I give it a 7. I had to change my original post because of the
AI at times it can be hit or miss. But I was way too harsh and that was not cool.
The gameplay is fun and I had some good games. I am sure a nice patch will
be released soon.

I didn't rate it yet, it is too early.....but I agree it shouldn't get a 10 or a 9 on a general rating... I think some are just trying give it extra points, because they know some who do not like the camera or just the game anyway...might give it an extremely low score. So they are probably just trying to balance things out.....at least that is what I think.

it would be better if we can see who gave what.

I think the people on both ends of the spectrum are way off. I don't see how somebody could give it a 10, but I don't see how it deserves a 1 or 2 either

I give it a 7..

About the only complaint I have is that the blocking is less than stellar for both the player and cpu. And there is no route based passing as I have had a crossing route turn into a streak several times because the QB throws on the current WR path instead of the intended route.

Other than that I love the game and already have the Buffalo Bills outside of a few remaining tweaks.
