HDD installs are generally used to improve load times and not much else....I'm not really following you.

does that mean the disk is only 1gb full? in that case they could have made bb downloadedable fairly easily. if this thing came out for pc it would be amazing.

Yah on the PS3. You can install the whole game on the 360.

For example Alan Wake install is 6.2 GB,Mass Effect 2 is 12.4 GB and Split/Second is 6.6 GB. For some more perspective the Assassin's Creed II Sequence 13 DLC is 1.1 GB,the AC/DC import for Rock Band is 723 MB,the Monkey Island remake downloadable game is 533MB and Sam & Max Beyond Time & Space is 704 MB. So yes Backbreaker being 1 GB is a bit of a concern.

Lol, some game demos are 1.2 GB. The Halo Reach beta was 1.1 GB.

Audio & video take up the most disc space. Since there is no commentary the game is smaller than normal. But 1/6th smaller than other games seems odd....

                1. There's no commentary

                2. There are no cut-scenes

                3. The physics-based engine eliminates the need to store canned animations

                4. There's not much, if any, create-a-player art

That stuff saves you a ton of space.

pretty much. coding does not take up a lot of space, it's audio, art, and videos.

this could be the smallest full retail game on 360 though(not counting arcade games). the smallest I've seen before this(and no I haven't seen every game) was around 3GB.

It's there with the Pinball Hall of Fame game as smallest 360 games I've seen. When I saw 1GB I was like, holy crap.

Even though the lack of commentary makes the size of backbreaker smaller than usual, I doubt there is actually a real NEED for commentary if you're supposed to be on the field.

I mean, I sincerely doubt players are able to hear the commentators while they're on the field in the middle of a game. As a football player, I already know that you can only hear the announcer who usually calls out the name of the player that makes the tackle or took part in the play called.
And of course you also hear the crowd and the players and other people around you that are on the field. Commentators don't need to be heard in backbreaker. That's just how it is.

Man one 1GB. Man that is small. I got a 250 GB HDD for my 360. I still have about 189GB left free.

The arcade games that came with my 360 have more space than Backbreaker, so yeah that's a concern.

Won't change this signature until Oregon wins a national championship (started 3/10/10)

I wouldn't say it's a concearn. Commentary and particurly animations take up huge space. I think it just gives the game even more potential.

Hard to tell if you're serious or not.

There are a lot of things that would concern me more. Like is the yogurt in my fridge approaching it's use-by date? That's a much bigger concern.

As others have said, commentary and animations would take up a fair bit of space. I would expect the biggest hog to be HD FMV though; Backbreaker only contains a few short trailers, whereas some of the titles listed in this thread contain massive amounts of FMV for cutscenes etc.

Plus considering the consoles can only hold less than half a GB of data in memory at one time, it's even less of a big deal.
