Yeah right...EA would probably only include Gretzky this year. I wonder if this game is NHL 11 or a separate game. I guarantee this won't be cheap. I say about $100.

About 2k it's like they quite with trying to IMPROVE their Hockey game and said screw it, we'll just make the game where we have no competition.

Kind of sux! I have sworn off all EA games because of their crappy used game code bs. No NHL game for me ever then t ill EA's bs stops.

Remember when historic teams and mini games and alt Jersey's and scouting and puck colors and stadiums were free?

Hmm? EA has never charged for that stuff in their NHL games.

Couple of screenshots that AP posted:

They are slightly bullshots, higher resolution than the Wii, but thats basically how the game will look.

I was out of town for the holiday, so thanks for linking to The Sun's story. All of the community reps had some time with NHL Slapshot at the event and I was one of the first to play it. I'm not a Wii guy, but I had a lot of fun with it. Alain from EA said we can't get into hands-on impressions yet, so when I can, I'll give everyone my thoughts.

While I've no interest in the Wii, I find it somewhat humorous that now 2k has competition on that platform. I wonder if next year they'll also "reevaluate" their position on the Wii with hockey as well.

Yeah, it's hilarious isn't it. Because competition and having two options is a bad thing...

Who said that? competition is a nice thing, I don't think it matters as much as some think it does in the grand scheme, but having more than one choice as the consumer is certainly nice to have. Lighten up, it was more a poke at 2k's lack of a 360/PS3 sku this year than anything else.

I think his point was that 2K lost the plot with making the next-gen games so instead of competing and making them better, they just decided to can it altogether and develop on Wii only because its been a cash cow for them for the last two years. Well now if EA runs away with Wii sales they have NOTHING left. There were hardcores on 360/PS3 that were loyal but now those people will get NHL 11, and there will be no loyalty on Wii, all those parents buying gifts for the holidays will be mesmerized with Wayne Gretzky on the box and the stick peripheral.

Pretty much what I was getting at. Though it might help serve as a wake up call that if they (2k) actually put some money, marketing, and had an actual vision for the series, they too could rake in the dough and please the fanbase at the same time. Take a page out of EA Vancouver's playbook so to speak.

On topic, altho those might be bullshots looks like it could be a fun experience for those into the Wii.

This game definitely has my attention. I've been wanting EA's NHL series on the Wii for awhile now, and it's to see they are giving it the attention it deserves. The screens look amazing, and the Be A Pro could end up being the best on any console. I'm excited to see more.

I may actually re-buy a Wii for this title. After getting my hands on it in Vancouver with QB and the others, I was definitely impressed.

Sept 7th is going to be a great day for hockey fans.

When cinemotion became a main feature of the 2K series, you know that whoever was in charge had no ****ing clue as to why 2K had sales issues.
