Re: NBA 2K11 Cover Athlete Michael Jordan, Confirmed

Normally I'm a "who gives a damn who's on the cover" type of guy, but Jordan? Seriously? I don't even really like basketball that much, but this gets my attention. I'll be buying this game for the cover! Yes, for the cover. I'll play it, sure, but I'll display this thing the way a bookworm displays War and Peace on their bookshelf. It's a must-have box for any serious sports gamer... right next to the Desmond Howard NCAA Football.

Now... Jerry Rice on Madden, Jim Thorpe on NCAA, Pele on FIFA, Gretzky on NHL, and Babe Ruth on The Show... c'mon, guys, get'r done!
There are two types of people on OS: Those who disagree with me, and those who agree.

The first kind is wrong. The second is superfluous.

The only difference between reality and fiction is that fiction needs to be credible.

lol you must be a Knicks fan, I think this is great and cant wait for more information on this. But your right, we need some solid information on some old and lingering mechanic problems.

After reading the full thing it looks like he will be in the game, they just dont say how. It makes the most sence to put him on the "historic" teams (duh right) but I wonder if they have something else in mind for / with him, hopefully along side him being on the "historic" teams

I really feel bad for this generation that did not get to see MJ play live. He was unlike any others. Simply amazing, Kobe, Lebron or Wade have nothing on him.

looks like 2k got their man, but a cover athlete doesn't resolve game play.....it's all about SALES

I would think the exciting part would be that they will have jordan in game with maybe some of his Mo-cap this year. I guess for the 1st time a next gen game would attempt to create a jordan worthy of jordan instead of user created content

Well, you can't have the Classic MJ without decent calf sleeves. So I'm assuming the sock-bug is fixed. Eh, 2K?

If 2K lets the people choose the cover like last year it could be great! Just give us 4 MJ options...plus a Spike Lee one...

Well for me this is a "WOW" moment since he had been absent from video game b-ball with the exception of a few games. Other then that I always am curious as to who / why they put XXXX player on a cover but for me this is diffrent.

I totally agree, I was lucky enough to get to see him live four times, two in Chicago; had a girlfriend who had family there so going there to see her family was a no brainer and twice here in Denver, sadly the second time here in Denver he played a quarter maybe a quarter and a half and then sat the rest of the game. They were blowing out the Nuggets.
